The author of the article presents comments and postulates regarding research on the culture and history of Silesia, which were announced by representatives of various scientific disciplines in Poland after the Second World War. The philologist and cultural expert appealed for extensive scientific competence of the researcher of Silesian affairs, for understanding of the difficult realities of this land, and he warned against the diagnosis of local culture preached to a political or social order of an environment with specific views on the reality of the region. It is important that the author appealed for modeling the interpretation and analytical workshop, which for the research of this earth I designed ten years before him in my scientific achievements. This means that the groups interested in the study of Silesia and Silesians work separately and that no sufficient efforts have been made to remedy the methodological backwardness. The historian and political scientist also entered into the trend of doubts of philologists and cultural scholars, because in summing up the achievements of their own disciplines and social sciences, he also found confusion in research. Its causes were related to the insufficient orientation of specialists from various fields of science regarding the research of Silesia, the lack of orderliness in terminology and mutual understanding. He believed that it was necessary to build the truth about the fate of this region, even at the price of consent for simplified visions. Condensation of these views is one of the challenges faced by researchers of the multidimensional senses of the Upper Silesian world.
