Adieu, breve e drammatica novella pubblicata da Balzac nel 1830, si pone all’incrocio di generi letterari diversi (romanzo storico, récit d’aliéné ecc.) sui quali prevale una tonalità fantastica che ricorre sotto varie forme nel corso della narrazione. Questo articolo si propone di dimostrare come l’alternanza dei registri narrativi incida significativamente sullo statuto identitario dei personaggi e come per essi sia possibile trovare un’interessante chiave di lettura nelle anamorfosi del fantastico. This article aims to demonstrate how the alternation of narrative registers significantly affects the identity status of the characters and how it is possible for them to find an interesting way of interpretation in the anamorphosis of the fantastic. 'Adieu', brève et dramatique nouvelle publiée par Balzac en 1830, se place au carrefour de différents genres littéraires (roman historique, récit d’aliéné etc.) sur lesquels règne une tonalité fantastique qui se reproduit sous diverses formes au cours de la narration. Cet article vise à démontrer comment l'alternance des registres narratifs affecte significativement le statut identitaire des personnages et comment il est possible de trouver une clé de lecture intéressante dans l'anamorphose du fantastique.
