Wpływ wodoru na polimeryzację etylenu wobec katalizatorów Zieglera-Natty
subject
description
The effects of hydrogen on both degree and rate of polymerization were investigated with the catalytic system (TiCl4 + Et2AlCl) supported on modified alumina. Hydrogen is little active as a chain-terminating agent in the presence of the investigated catalyst. It also lowers the activity of the catalyst due to deactivation of a part of active centres. The influence of hydrogen on the viscosity-average molecular weight was analyzed by Natta's equations and it was found that the chain transfer reaction of polymer took place via molecular and not via atomic hydrogen. The molecular weight control by hydrogen was described by equation (22) using the kinetic model of this polymerization process derived in a previous paper.
