Dialektale Merkmale in den sprachbiographischen Interviews der älteren Generation in Polen
subject
description
One of the goals of the specialized corpus of Polish-German bilingualism, created as part of the project Language across Generations: Contact Induced Change in Morphosyntax in German-Polish Bilingual Speech, is to document the endangered German dialects in western and northern Poland. This chapter illustrates the regional diversity of German dialectal features in terms of phonetics and morphology, which are a continuation of the Silesian and Low German dialects. The analysis is based on thirty biographical interviews with representatives of the older generation inhabiting the areas incorporated into Poland in 1945. Further, the most important features of Silesian in Polish are presented.
