Wpływ wodoru na przebieg polimeryzacji etylenu wobec katalizatora tytanowo-glinowego z ligandami n-butoksylowymi

subject

description

The effect of hydrogen content on the kinetics of polymerization of ethylene in the presence of a catalytic system: Ti(OBu-n)4+Et2AlCl and on the average molecular mass of polyethylene has been investigated. It has been found that hydrogen does not change the kinetic character of the polymerization reaction, but it reduces the yield of polyethylene due to deactivation of a part of active centres. The values of the rate constants of the elementary reaction of chain termination with the participation of hydrogen and of monomer have been determined: they are, correspondingly, 2.53X10-1 dm3/(mole-s) and 8.22X10-3 dm3/(mole-s). Thus, hydrogen is an active transfer agent which controls the molecular mass of polyethylene obtained in the presence of a titanium-aluminium catalyst with n-BuO-ligands.
