The aim of the article is to compare the preliminary results of the research on the data gathered in the VILLA project with the reflections of the teacher conducting all the sessions (ten courses in Polish for beginners). The article consists of four parts. The first one presents the basic information about the project. The second one describes the content, the methodology and the didactic strategies used during the dasses. The third one contains reflections useful for people analysing the gathereddata. The article concludes with a short comment on the research resuits, that is, on the influence of several factors (such as the teaching methodology, the learners' age and their mother tongue skills) on the progress in learning.
