La costruzione sistematica del sapere didattico è stata possibile quando i risultati delle scienze-fonti della didattica sono stati rielaborati dal punto di vista di chi studia il processo di insegnamento-apprendimento, per la formulazione di ipotesi articolate che sono state sottoposte a verifica mediante l’esperimento oppure con l’osservazione sistematica, secondo le due grandi tradizioni della ricerca quantitativa e qualitativa. Tre sono i periodi essenziali in cui si può suddividere la recente storia della ricerca didattica in Italia: il periodo pioneristico (1954-1974), quello del pieno riconoscimento accademico (1974-1994) e quello della maturità scientifica (1994-2014). The systematic construction of didactic knowledge was possible when the results of the sciences-source of Didactics were re-elaborated from the point of view of those who study the teaching-learning process, for the formulation of articulated hypotheses that have been verified by means of the experiment or with systematic observation, according to the two great traditions of quantitative and qualitative research. There are three essential periods in which the recent history of didactic research in Italy can be divided: the pioneering period (1954-1974), that of full academic recognition (1974-1994) and that of scientific maturity (1994-2014).
