Resumen: Texto en que se recoge la intervención hecha en el homenaje realizado al profesor Mario Ruiz durante el XXVII Congreso de la Sociedad Española de Filosofía Jurídica y Política, celebrado en Valladolid. Se expone la interpretación de su pensamiento sobre los temas de dignidad, autonomía, discriminación a partir del examen de su publicación sobre el caso Wakenheim. Su posicionamiento se engarza con otros temas que abordó ampliamente, en particular el de la argumentación jurídica.
 Abstract: Text that shares the intervention made in the homage to Professor Mario Ruiz during the  XXVII Congreso de la Sociedad Española de Filosofía Jurídica y Política, held in Valladolid. The interpretation of his thought on the subjects of dignity, autonomy and discrimination is exposed from the examination of his publication on the Wakenheim case. His positioning is linked to other issues that he addressed extensively, like the legal argumentation.
