Firms are constantly looking for ways leading to business competitive advantage creation, which is one of the most important issues within the area of strategic management. Among the factors affecting the creation of this advantage, an important place is occupied by the logistics potentials of business success, including resources, capabilities and competences related to the logistics area. The purpose of the article is to identify the premises of business competitive advantage creation, based on the so-called strategic profile of logistics potentials of success, which consists of: (1) first-order potentials, which are logistics resources, in particular the so-called key resources, constituting the basis for the development of capabilities and competences, (2) second-order potentials, which are logistics capabilities, in particular so-called key capabilities that enable the integration of various resource compositions, as well as their active and effective involvement in the achievement of business goals, (3) third-order potentials, which are logistics competences, resulting from the integration and coordination of logistics resources and capabilities.
