The article includes consideration of the contemporary toys. The mail question is whether they are safe for children - both in the mental and physical way. Considerations on the subject begin with the finding a definition o f a toy, then describe its function. This analysis facilitates the understanding of what should be a toy in a child's life. The last part of the article describes the modern toys through their thorough analysis of the direct and indirect influence on children. Article ends with an analysis based on author’s research. The aim of the study was to answer the question: Are the modern toys safe for children? They were carried out by diagnostic survey technique. The study was attended by parents who answered the questions in the questionnaire. The study allowed to get parents' opinion about safety of toys offered to children and also to examine their awareness for threats and the negative effect caused by the choosing of improper toys for a child.
