Durante las dos primeras decadas del siglo XX, en una epoca en que viajar estaba al alcance de muy pocas personas, visito Egipto y numerosos paises del continente europeo, siempre con una finalidad cultural, artistica e instructiva. Por estas razones, se le considera uno de los primeros exponentes de la democratizacion de los viajes; este articulo pone enfasis en la vision de viaje ideal concebida por Sanchis Sivera. EnglishThe article provides abundant biographical and bibliographical insights about the littlestudied Valencian scholar and historian, Josep Sanchis Sivera, who during the first two decades of the 20th century, at a time when traveling was not within everybody’s reach, visited Egypt and many countries across the European continent, always with a cultural, artistic and instructive purpose. For these reasons, he is considered one of the earliest exponents of the democratization of travel. This article emphasizes the vision of ideal travel conceived by Sanchis Sivera
