Integration of a Dirac comb and the Bernoulli polynomials
2016
Abstract For any positive integer n , we consider the ordinary differential equations of the form y ( n ) = 1 − Ш + F where Ш denotes the Dirac comb distribution and F is a piecewise- C ∞ periodic function with null average integral. We prove the existence and uniqueness of periodic solutions of maximal regularity. Above all, these solutions are given by means of finite explicit formulae involving a minimal number of Bernoulli polynomials. We generalize this approach to a larger class of differential equations for which the computation of periodic solutions is also sharp, finite and effective.
Homozygous deletions localize novel tumor suppressor genes in B-cell lymphomas
2007
AbstractIntegrative genomic and gene-expression analyses have identified amplified oncogenes in B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL), but the capability of such technologies to localize tumor suppressor genes within homozygous deletions remains unexplored. Array-based comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) and gene-expression microarray analysis of 48 cell lines derived from patients with different B-NHLs delineated 20 homozygous deletions at 7 chromosome areas, all of which contained tumor suppressor gene targets. Further investigation revealed that only a fraction of primary biopsies presented inactivation of these genes by point mutation or intragenic deletion, but instead some of them w…
Search for CP violation using T-odd correlations in D-0 -> K+K-pi(+)pi(-) decays
2014
A search for $CP$ violation using $T$-odd correlations is performed using the four-body $D^0 \to K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ decay, selected from semileptonic $B$ decays. The data sample corresponds to integrated luminosities of $1.0\,\text{fb}^{-1}$ and $2.0\,\text{fb}^{-1}$ recorded at the centre-of-mass energies of 7 TeV and 8 TeV, respectively. The $CP$-violating asymmetry $a_{CP}^{T\text{-odd}}$ is measured to be $(0.18\pm 0.29\text{(stat)}\pm 0.04\text{(syst)})\%$. Searches for $CP$ violation in different regions of phase space of the four-body decay, and as a function of the $D^0$ decay time, are also presented. No significant deviation from the $CP$ conservation hypothesis is found.
Complex rearrangement of chromosomes 6 and 11 as the sole anomaly in atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors of the central nervous system.
2000
Atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor of the central nervous system is a rare childhood tumor with a distinct histologic appearance and an aggressive clinical course. Few tumors have been analyzed cytogenetically. The only consistent chromosomal abnormality identified in some of these tumors has been monosomy or deletions of chromosome 22; in others, a normal chromosome 22 was present. The authors report an atypical teratoid/rhabdoid neoplasm of the central nervous system with a novel complex rearrangement affecting chromosomes 6 and 11 as the sole anomaly. The involvement of region 11p15 could be important in the pathogenesis of this entity.
Role of SHP2 for FLT3-dependent proliferation and transformation in 32D cells.
2008
Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) is a class III receptor tyrosine kinase, which plays a role in proliferation and differentiation of B-cell progenitors, myelomonocytic and dendritic cells, as well as in the maintenance of pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells (reviewed in Stirewalt and Radich,1and Schmidt-Arras et al.2). Recently, FLT3 has received much attention as an important oncoprotein. Mutations in FLT3 that lead to constitutive activation are among the most common molecular lesions found in acute myeloid leukemia.3 The most prevalent type of mutations result in internal tandem duplications (ITD) of amino-acid stretches in the juxtamembrane domain of FLT3. FLT3-ITD is constitutively a…
EWS/FLI-1 rearrangement in small round cell sarcomas of bone and soft tissue detected by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction amplificatio…
1994
Recent cloning of the t(11;22) region has led to the detection of a number of sequences involved in the breakpoints by substituting a sequence which encodes a putative RNA binding domain for that of the DNA binding domain of the human homologue of murine FLI-1. Several tumours display consistent translocation at t(11;22) (q24;q12), a finding that suggests these fusion transcripts could be expressed and detected by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction amplification. To date, only a small number of Ewing's sarcomas (Es) and peripheral neuroectodermal tumours (pPNET) of bone have been tested with this novel molecular biology approach. In this study, we confirmed the presence of the …
Involvement of the chromosomal region 11q13 in renal oncocytoma: case report and literature review.
1997
Renal oncocytomas comprise a cytogenetically heterogeneous group of tumors consisting potentially of cytogenetic distinguishable subgroups. Review of the literature revealed loss of chromosome 1 and Y as a possible anomaly for at least one subset of oncocytomas. The frequent finding of rearrangements involving chromosome 11 band q13 characterizes another subset of oncocytomas. We report the cytogenetic and pathological features of a renal oncocytoma diagnosed in a 72-year-old woman and found a t(9;11)(p23;q13) as a consistent abnormality. This supports the idea that translocations involving 11q13 define a further subset of oncocytoma. (C) Elsevier Science Inc., 1997.
Divergently Transcribed Overlapping Genes Expressed in Liver and Kidney and Located in the 11p15.5 Imprinted Domain
1998
Human chromosomal band 11p15.5 has been shown to contain genes involved in the development of several pediatric and adult tumors and in Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome (BWS). Overlapping P1 artificial chromosome clones from this region have been used as templates for genomic sequencing in an effort to identify candidate genes for these disorders. PowerBLAST identified several matches with expressed sequence tags (ESTs) from fetal brain and liver cDNA libraries. Northern blot analysis indicated that two of the genes identified by these ESTs encode transcripts of 1-1.5 kb with predominant expression in fetal and adult liver and kidney. With RT-PCR and RACE, full-length transcripts were isolated f…
Algunas reflexiones acerca de la stjue de 9 de julio de 2020 sobre los pactos novatorios en materia de cláusulas suelo
2021
The Sentence of the Court of Justice of the European Union of July 9, 2020 comes to answer the five questions that, in its preliminary question, the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 3 of Teruel asks about the validity of the new agreements in the context of the floor clauses, establishing jurisprudential doctrine on this matter about which our Supreme Court had previously ruled in its Judgments of October 16, 2017, in the sense of considering the agreed floor clause null as a consequence of the novation agreement and, subsequently, those of April 11, 2018 and September 13, 2018 in the opposite direction, declaring that the novation agreement was valid. It is a long-awaited and in…
Powerful tumor cell growth-inhibiting activity of a synthetic derivative of atractyligenin: Involvement of PI3K/Akt pathway and thioredoxin system
2014
The semi-synthetic ent-kaurane 15-ketoatractyligenin methyl ester (SC2017) has been previously reported to possess high antiproliferative activity against several solid tumor-derived cell lines. Our study was aimed at investigating SC2017 tumor growth-inhibiting activity and the underlying mechanisms in Jurkat cells (T-cell leukemia) and xenograft tumor models. METHODS: Cell viability was evaluated by MTT assay. Cell cycle progression, reactive oxygen species (ROS) elevation and apoptotic hallmarks were monitored by flow cytometry. Inhibition of thioredoxin reductase (TrxR) by biochemical assays. Levels and/or activation status of signaling proteins were assessed by western blotting. Xenogr…
