Chandra observation of the Big Dipper X 1624–490

We present the results of a 73 ks long Chandra observation of the dipping source X 1624-490. During the observation a complex dip lasting 4 hours is observed. We analyse the persistent emission detecting, for the first time in the 1st-order spectra of X 1624-490, an absorption line associated to \ion{Ca}{xx}. We confirm the presence of the \ion{Fe}{xxv} K$_\alpha$ and \ion{Fe}{xxvi} K$_\alpha$ absorption lines with a larger accuracy with respect to a previous XMM observation. Assuming that the line widths are due to a bulk motion or a turbulence associated to the coronal activity, we estimate that the lines have been produced in a photoionized absorber between the coronal radius and the out…

Among the numerous epidemic episodes that have affected western Sicily in modern times, sadly famous are the plague of 1575 and 1624. The latter was the most serious occurred in Trapani and the one of which the most dramatic testimonies are preserved. Trapani quickly assumed the role of the starting point of the plague epidemic that raged in Sicily until 1626. The documents of the time testify to the coexistence of popular and religious beliefs of a superstitious nature with embryonic policies to contain the contagion on a scientific basis. Con la sentenza n. 16253/2020 la Suprema Corte ha affermato che l’assenza di nesso causale tra la cessazione di un appalto e il licenziamento del lavoratore integra un’ipotesi di manifesta insussistenza del fatto posto alla base del licenziamento - con conseguente applicabilità della tutela reintegratoria attenuta di cui all’art. 18, comma 5, della legge n. 300/1970 - non riconducibile, pertanto, agli altri casi in cui il giudice dichiara risolto il rapporto concedendo la sola tutela indennitaria forte (da dodici a ventiquattro mensilità).
