Summary Background Up-to-date evidence about levels and trends in disease and injury incidence, prevalence, and years lived with disability (YLDs) is an essential input into global, regional, and national health policies. In the Global Burden of Disease Study 2013 (GBD 2013), we estimated these quantities for acute and chronic diseases and injuries for 188 countries between 1990 and 2013. Methods Estimates were calculated for disease and injury incidence, prevalence, and YLDs using GBD 2010 methods with some important refinements. Multiple Cutaneous Metastases in the Chest from Prostatic Carcinoma

We report a case of multiple cutaneous metastases from prostate cancer. A 78-year-old man with an 8-year history of prostate cancer had multiple nodular lesions in the chest. Histologically, the lesion showed an abortive glandular lumina and tall columnar cells with abundant cytoplasm. Immunohistochemical staining for AE1:AE3 cytokeratin cocktail, prostate-specific antigen, and prostate-specific acid phosphatase was positive in tumor cells, confirming the diagnosis of cutaneous metastases from prostate cancer. We report this case because of the rarity of cutaneous metastases from prostatic adenocarcinoma in the chest region.

Abstract Zollinger-Ellison syndrome is an often progressive, persistent and frequently life-threatening disease, described for the first time as characterized by ulceration of the upper jejunum, hypersecretion of gastric acid and non-beta islet cell tumors of the pancreas; this syndrome is due to the hypersecretion of gastrin. We report a case of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome presenting as severe esophagitis evolving in stenosis, which demonstrates how a delayed diagnosis may induce risk of disease spreading. L'articolo prende spunto da una decisione delle Sezioni Unite per esaminare il ruolo della Corte di cassazione nel nostro ordinamento. L'a. procede poi ad una approfondita illustrazione delle forme di tutela dei creditori nel caso di confisca dei beni del debitore e solleva seri dubbi di legittimità costituzionale delle norme introdotte dal codice delle leggi antimafia e dalla legge di stabilità e ritiene che le stesse disposizioni non sono compatibili con i principi del giusto processo di esecuzione sancito dall'art. 6 della Convenzione europea per la salvaguardia dei diritti dell'uomo.
