Mast cells (MCs), which are well known for their effector functions in T(H)2-skewed allergic and also autoimmune inflammation, have become increasingly acknowledged for their role in protection of health. It is now clear that they are also key modulators of immune responses at interface organs, such as the skin or gut. MCs can prime tissues for adequate inflammatory responses and cooperate with dendritic cells in T-cell activation. They also regulate harmful immune responses in trauma and help to successfully orchestrate pregnancy. The present study aimed to investigate the associations between teachers’ observed emotional support and social competence among Finnish pre-schoolers (6-year-olds). The quality of emotional support was observed using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System Pre-K in 47 preschool classrooms twice across the preschool year. Teachers rated children’s social competence in autumn and again in spring, using the Multisource Assessment of Social Competence Scale (MASCS), which produced sum scores for cooperating skills, empathy, impulsivity, and disruptiveness. This study concerns the new financial threshold of punishability introduced by legislative decree n. 8/2016 for the criminal offence of failing to pay pension and welfare deductions (art. 2 legis. Forskningens bakgrund och syfte: Fysisk aktivitet är en central del i vården av typ 2-diabetes. Trots påvisade positiva effekter av regelbunden fysisk aktivitet verkar en liten andel diabetiker vara fysiskt aktiva. Smärta har i tidigare studier identifierats som ett hinder till fysisk aktivitet bland diabetiker och man har kunnat se samband mellan kronisk smärta och svårigheter att utföra fysisk aktivitet. Det finns dock endast ett fåtal studier som undersöker detta samband.
