How is a specific type of emotion-related work conducts formed today? What principles guide these conducts and what effects do they have on those who work? The study of Contact Center agents allows us to understand how a set of personal qualities such as patience and good treatment of others, certain desires and personal impulses or even intimate sensations such as anguish or individual expectations have become managerialized emotions that end up modifying the inner attitudes of these agents. La consolidació de l'entorn digital i totes les seues modalitats de comunicació ha ampliat les possibilitats d'interacció i, per tant, els àmbits d'ús de les llengües. Com a adaptació a aquesta nova realitat, en aquesta aproximació metodològica plantegem la combinació de diferents tècniques no reactives: explotació de fonts secundàries, observació sistemàtica, i mystery shopping. Fa 50 anys, a Conflicte lingüístic valencià, Rafael L. Ninyoles situava el trencament de la transmissió familiar del català com a resultat i manifestació externa de conflictes socials i de classes, especialment visibles enmig del procés de modernització econòmica i mobilitat social accelerada del País Valencià dels anys 60 del segle XX. This article presents the biography and intellectual legacy of Valencian sociologist Rafael L. Ninyoles (1943- 2019). It reviews his formative itinerary, his early contributions to the field of the sociology of language, his latest contributions to the sociology of cities and cultural spaces, and his key involvement in the promoti-on and consolidation of the sociological study of Valencian society. The article includes a note on public acknowledgements to the author, plus an annex with a selective bibliography aimed at serving the interested reader and the posthumous diffusion of Ninyoles? oeuvre.

The article argues ?from the Deleuzian concepts of society of control, moulding and modulation and the Rosean theory on the economization and medicalization of life? that the expansion of the concept of health in terms of integral and subjective well-being is the effect of a socio-historical shift in the way we relate to this signifier, and therefore to our bodies and ourselves. We use this interpretative network to analyze the effects that the biopsychosocial health paradigm has had in the context of aesthetic surgery and fitness practice.
