Hvordan opplever respiratorpasienter å bli mobilisert? : En kvalitativ studie
2020
Master's thesis in Specialized nursing (ME519) Background In recent years there is an increased practice in keeping mechanical ventilated patients more awake and mobilized. This has proven to provide a better outcome. Little research has been done on how mechanical ventilated patients themselves experience this practice. Purpose The purpose of the study was to gain a broader insight into the perceptions and experiences of mechanical ventilated patients related to being awake and mobilized while in respiratory care. Research question: How do mechanical ventilated patients experience being mobilized? Method We used a qualitative method with semi-structured interviews. Six former patients were…

2022
Gruppeveiledningen stimulerer…
Students’ experiences and learning in physical education
2022
Rorty’s philosophical pragmatism, which inspired this thesis, states that ‘… our responsibilities are exclusively toward other human beings, not toward “reality”’ (Rorty & Engel, 2007, p. 41). The Norwegian education programme indicates, through its values, that the school shall help students to live, learn and work together in a complex present time and when meeting with an unknown future (UDIR, 2019b). In accordance, the present thesis does not try to reveal any intrinsic reality, but to create knowledge that is useful in teachers’ and students’ everyday lives, both within and outside PE lessons. To produce such knowledge concerning students’ experiences and learning in physical education…

2021
Tidsskrift, Peer reviewed Contextualized within narrative theory and the field of talent identification and development systems (TIDS), this interview study examined strained junior elite performers’ experiences of becoming elite performers while participating in prestigious national TIDS. The study explored how junior elite performers perceive and negotiate their personal narratives of becoming within a cultural master narrative of being. The focus is on how the quality of person-environment interaction, characterized by narrative alignment or tensions, relates to perceptions of identity, agency, physical, and mental health. We purposefully recruited eight participants (Mage = 17.31, SD = …
Cardiorespiratory fitness is associated with drop out from sport in Norwegian adolescents
2020
Several studies indicate that participation in organized sport may result in higher physical activity levels among youth which are associated with high levels of cardiorespiratory fitness. However, no study has examined whether cardiorespiratory fitness (VO2peak) is associated with drop out from sport. The study was a 5-year longitudinal study which followed a sample of adolescents, with measures of cardiorespiratory fitness, weight and height between the age of 14 and 19 yrs. Self-reported data about participation in sport, active commuting and physical activity level were also included. Through logistic regression analyses we found a positive association between cardiorespiratory fitness …
