Liikunnasta elämäniloa ja energiaa : masennusta kokevien nuorten aikuisten liikuntakurssin suunnittelu, toteutus ja arviointi

2013

Aineis…

Depression and Violence in Adolescence and Young Adults: Findings From Three Longitudinal Cohorts

2017

Objective Despite recent research demonstrating associations between violence and depression in adults, links in adolescents are uncertain. This study aims to assess the longitudinal associations between young people’s depression and later violent outcomes. Method We used data from three cohorts with different measurements of depression exposures and subsequent violent outcomes. In a Dutch community cohort Research on Adolescent Development And Relationships (RADAR; N = 623) and a population-based British birth cohort Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC; N = 4,030), we examined the longitudinal links between adolescent depressive symptoms and violent behaviors from age 1…

Aiuti di Stato all’interno di uno stesso gruppo societario: profili sostanziali e processuali

2022

The essay deals with a State aid case between companies belonging to the same corporate group. To clarify the concepts of ‘State resources’ and the misure imputable to the State, the essay suggests framing the concrete case within the framework of the so-called “in-house” company. This does not rule out the application of the private investor test in normal market conditions, which – if disregarded – can overcome the indistinction typical of “in-house” companies.

Advances of Research in Education and ICT in Hospital Classrooms

2017

Effect of sodium bicarbonate and beta-alanine supplementation on maximal sprint swimming

2013

Background. This study examined the effect of simultaneous supplementation of extracellular buffer sodium bicarbonate (SB) and intracellular buffer beta-alanine (BA) on maximal sprint swimming. Methods. Thirteen competitive male swimmers completed 4 different treatments (placebo [PL], SB, BA + PL, and BA + SB) in a crossover procedure. PL or SB supplementation (0.3 g/kg body weight) was ingested 60 min before two maximal 100-m freestyle swims that were performed with a passive recovery of 12-min between each swim. Because of the known long washout period for carnosine, four weeks of BA supplementation (4.8 g per day) was started after the first week of PL or SB supplementation and performan…

3D reconstruction techniques made easy: know-how and pictures

2005

Three-dimensional reconstructions represent a visual-based tool for illustrating the basis of three-dimensional post-processing such as interpolation, ray-casting, segmentation, percentage classification, gradient calculation, shading and illumination. The knowledge of the optimal scanning and reconstruction parameters facilitates the use of three-dimensional reconstruction techniques in clinical practise. The aim of this article is to explain the principles of multidimensional image processing in a pictorial way and the advantages and limitations of the different possibilities of 3D visualisation.

Noninvasive Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Response in Bronchiectasis Exacerbations: Key Practical Aspects and Topics

2016

Bronchiectasis is a progressive lung disease characterized by gradual airflow obstruction secondary to mucus plugging, excessive airway inflammation, and parenchymal destruction. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) has been shown to promote recruitment of the flooded alveoli, decrease the ventilation-perfusion mismatch, and relieve dyspnea in patients with bronchiectasis exacerbations. It has also been proven to improve respiratory mechanics and reduce the work of breathing. It can be also successfully adopted in promoting mucus clearance and preventing desaturation during chest physiotherapy and exercise. However, validated criteria for starting CPAP treatment in bronchiectasis are …

2017

T1 maps have been shown to yield useful diagnostic information on lung function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma, both for native T1 and ΔT1, the relative reduction while breathing pure oxygen. As parameter quantification is particularly interesting for longitudinal studies, the purpose of this work was both to examine the reproducibility of lung T1 mapping and to compare T1 found in COPD and asthma patients using IRSnapShotFLASH embedded in a full MRI protocol. 12 asthma and 12 COPD patients (site 1) and further 15 COPD patients (site 2) were examined on two consecutive days. In each patient, T1 maps were acquired in 8 single breath-hold slices, brea…
