Can a cheat sheet in an EFL test engage and empower students?

Although occasionally used in language classrooms, cheat-sheet tests have not been explored in foreign or second language education research. This study experimented with cheat-sheet tests in the teaching of EFL in a Finnish upper secondary school. The participants, 101 students, could make a cheat sheet for the grammar part of their English test. A total of 92 students prepared the cheat sheet, nine did not. Alternative displays of effect size statistics can enhance the understandability and impact of validity evidence in a variety of applied settings. Arguably, the proliferation of alternative effect size statistics has been limited due to the lack of user-friendly tools to create them. Common statistical packages do not readily produce these alternative effect sizes and existing tools are outdated and inaccessible. Kolāžu izmantošana vārdu krājuma nostiprināšanai angļu valodas stundās 3. klasē

Diplomdarba mērķis bija atrast veidu, kā nostiprināt vārdu krājumu svešvalodā 3. klasē, pārvēršot to par aktīvu vārdu krājumu, izmantojot kolāžas. Darba tēma tika izvēlēta, jo autore tic, ka vārdu krājums ir pamats svešvalodu apgūšanā. Skolotāja uzdevums ir palīdzēt skolēniem apgūt vārdu krājumu, izmantojot vizuālos materiālus mācību procesā pēc iespējas vairāk. Izvēlētā pētījuma metode bija atsevišķa gadījuma pētījums, kas tika veikts Rīgas 32. vidusskolā 3. klasē. Datu vākšanas metodes bija 2 testi skolēniem, intervija ar vietējo angļu valodas skolotāju un skolēnu anketa.
