Precision measurements of branching fractions forψ′→π0J/ψandηJ/ψ

2012

We present a precision study of the psi' -> pi(0)J/Psi and eta J/Psi decay modes. The measurements are obtained using 106 x 10(6) psi' events accumulated with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII e(+)e(-) collider operating at a center-of-mass energy corresponding to the psi' mass. We obtain B(psi' -> pi(0)J/Psi) = (1.26 +/- 0.02(stat) +/- 0.03(syst)) x 10(-3) and B(psi' -> eta J/Psi) = (33.75 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.86(syst)) x 10(-3). The branching fraction ratio R = B(psi'->pi(0)J/psi)/B(psi'->eta J/psi) is determined to be (3.74 +/- 0.06(stat) +/- 0.04(syst)) x 10(-2). The precision of these measurements of B(Psi' -> pi(0)J/Psi) and R represent a significant improvement over previously publis…

2005

The authors study the decay B{sup -} {yields} J/{psi}K{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} using 117 million B{bar B} events collected at the {Upsilon}(4S) resonance with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II e{sup +}e{sup -} asymmetric-energy storage ring. They measure the branching fractions {Beta}(B{sup -} {yields} J/{psi}K{sup -} {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}) = (116 {+-} 7(stat.) {+-} 9(syst.)) x 10{sup -5} and {Beta}(B{sup -} {yields} X(3872)K{sup -}) x {Beta}(X(3872) {yields} J/{psi}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}) = (1.28 {+-} 0.41) x 10{sup -5} and find the mass of the X(3872) to be 3873.4 {+-} 1.4MeV/c{sup 2}. Search for the radiative transitionsψ(3770)→γηcandγηc(2S)

2014

By using a 2.92 fb-1 data sample taken at pffisffiffi 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we search for the radiative transitions.d3770c and cd2S through the hadronic decays cdcd2S. K0 SK p. No significant excess of signal events above background is observed. We set upper limits at a 90% confidence level for the product branching fractions to be Bdd3770cxBd.c. K0 SK k p < 1.6x10-5 and Bd.d3770cd2SxBd.cd2S. K0 SK p<5.6x10-6. Combining our result with world-average values of Bd.cd.cd2S. K0 SK p, we find the branching fractions Bd.d3770c< 6.8 x 10-4 and Bd.d3770cd2S< 2.0 x 10-3 at a 90% confidence level.

Study ofB±,0→J/ψK+K−K±,0and search forB0→J/ψϕatBaBar

2015

We study the rare B meson decays B{+-,0} --> J/\psi\ K^+ K^- K{+-,0}, B{+-,0} --> J/\psi\ \phi\ K{+-,0}, and search for B0 --> J/\psi\ \phi, using 469 million BBbar events collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- asymmetric-energy collider. We present new measurements of branching fractions and a study of the J/\psi\phi mass distribution in search of new charmonium-like states. In addition, we search for the decay B0 --> J/\psi\ \phi, and find no evidence of a signal.

New ISR Cross Section Results onKS0KL0π0andKS0KL0π0π0From BaBar

2017

Abstract We present preliminary measurements of the cross sections for e + e − → K S 0 K L 0 π 0 and K S 0 K L 0 π 0 π 0 obtained using the technique of Initial State Radiation with 469 fb −1 of e + e − collision data collected with the BaBar detector at or near the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance. The resonant substructure of K S 0 K L 0 π 0 is investigated, and branching fractions for the decays of the charmonium resonances J / ψ and ψ ( 2 S ) into these final states are measured.

Search for high mass photon pairs in (f= e, μ, τ, v, q) at LEP

1993

Abstract The result of a search for high mass photon pairs from the processes e + e − → f f γγ (f = e, μ, τ, v and q) with the ALEPH detector is reported. The result for f = e , μ and τ is to be compared with the observation of 4 events by the L3 Collaboration with invariant masses, M γγ , of the two photons near 60 GeV. From a data sample approximately twice as large taken from 1990 to 1992, 6 events are found with M γγ distributed between 50 GeV and 72 GeV, while 4.9 events are expected from a QED calculation. There is no evidence for a mass peak; only one event ( μ + μ − γγ ) at M γγ = 59.4 ± 0.2 GeV is compatible with the L3 observation. In addition, for M γγ > 50 GeV, no event is found…

Search for a light Higgs resonance in radiative decays of theϒ(1S)with a charm tag

2015

A search is presented for the decay Υ(1S)→ γA^0, A^0 → cc[bar], where A^0 is a candidate for the CP-odd Higgs boson of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model. The search is based on data collected with the BABAR detector at the Υ(2S) resonance. A sample of Υ(1S) mesons is selected via the decay Υ(2S)→π + π − Υ(1S). The A^0 → cc[bar] decay is identified through the reconstruction of hadronic D^0, D^+, and D^∗ (2010)^+ meson decays. No significant signal is observed. The measured 90% confidence-level upper limits on the product branching fraction B(Υ(1S) → γA^0 ) × B(A^0 → cc[bar] ) range from 7.4×10^(−5) to 2.4×10^(−3) for A^0 masses from 4.00 to 8.95  GeV/c^2 and 9.10 to 9.25  Ge…

Observation ofe+e−→ηJ/ψat center-of-mass energys=4.009  GeV

2012

Using a 478 pb(-1) data sample collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider storage ring at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 4.009 GeV, the production of e(+)e(-) -> eta J/psi is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of greater than 10 sigma. The Born cross section is measured to be (32.1 +/- 2.8 +/- 1.3) pb, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. Assuming the eta J/psi signal is from a hadronic transition of the psi(4040), the fractional transition rate is determined to be B(psi(4040) -> eta J/psi) = (5.2 +/- 0.5 +/- 0.2 +/- 0.5) x 10(-3), where the first, second, and third errors are statistical, s…

Measurement of the B0→D*−π+π−π+ branching fraction

2016

Using a sample of (470.9 +- 2.8) x 10^6 BB-bar pairs, we measure the decay branching fraction B(B^0 -> D^*- pi^+ pi^- pi^+) = (7.26 +- 0.11 +- 0.31) x 10^-3, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Our measurement will be helpful in studies of lepton universality by measuring B(B^0 -> D^*- tau^+ nu_tau) using tau^+ -> pi^+ pi^- pi^+ nu-bar_tau decays, normalized to B(B^0 -> D^*- pi^+ pi^- pi^+.
