After introducing the classification, properties, sources, fate, and toxic effects related to phthalates, an overview of the techniques of extraction and analysis of these substances is provided. The aim was to describe longitudinal trends in peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak) among 14- to 19-year-old adolescents in Norway, and to examine effects of sex, body mass index (BMI), and physical activity (PA) level on VO2peak during adolescence. Of 124 invited students from two lower secondary schools in Norway, 116 eighth-grade students (61 boys and 55 girls; 14 years old at baseline) volunteered to participate. The aims of this study were two-fold: (1) to inspect separately for the relative age and birthplace effects for players selected in the National Basketball Association (NBA) draft; (2) to explore the interaction among these factors and analyse this interaction in players' career performance. The database was obtained from the official records of the players (n = 1,738), who were selected during the annual editions of the NBA Draft from 1990 to 2019. Under the paradigm of activation, the Public Employment Services has been reshaped by two levels of contractualization. On one hand, the collaboration of the administration with a network of agents on the programme scheme that make up the active policies of employment. On the other hand, the unemployed person?s access to a compartmentalized offer of services and individually taking responsibility for finding work. National audience; Cette étude vise à comprendre les effets d'une irradiation Ȗ sur les propriétés optiques et structurales des fibres dopées aux Terres Rares en vue de leur utilisation dans des amplificateurs à fibre réalisés pour des applications spatiales. L'enjeu majeur de durcissement de ces composants est abordé via des techniques telles que le chargement en hydrogène et/ou le co-dopage au Cérium du cœur des fibres optiques. L'identification des centres responsables de l'atténuation induite par irradiation et la compréhension des mécanismes de dégradation mis en jeu sont des étapes indispensables au développement de ces fibres.

Trust and confidence have been identified as crucial for efforts at solving the conundrum of high-level radioactive waste management (RWM). However, mistrust has its virtues, especially in the form of “civic vigilance”—healthy suspicion towards the powers that be. This article examines civic vigilance in the form of “watchdog journalism,” as practiced by the leading Finnish and French newspapers—Helsingin Sanomat (HS) and Le Monde (LM)—in their RWM reporting. This paper proposes a processing chain for the derivation of global Leaf Area Index (LAI), Fraction of Absorbed Photosynthetically Active Radiation (FAPAR), Fraction Vegetation Cover (FVC), and Canopy water content (CWC) maps from 15-years of MODIS data exploiting the capabilities of the Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud platform. The retrieval chain is based on a hybrid method inverting the PROSAIL radiative transfer model (RTM) with Random forests (RF) regression.
