Augmentation of weld penetration by flux assisted TIG welding and its distinct variants for oxygen free copper

2021

Abstract A comparative study to investigate the influences of single component fluxes on the depth-to-width ratio (DWR) of oxygen free copper was carried out with novel variants of tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding namely Activated TIG (A-TIG), Flux Bounded TIG (FB-TIG) and Flux Zoned TIG (FB-TIG) processes. The experiments to identify the fluxes delivering the higher DWRs in A-TIG welding among thirteen distinct fluxes were followed by the trials with FB-TIG and FZ-TIG employing those identified DWR fluxes. The fluxes which outperformed with all the techniques were MoO3 & MgO. Reversed Marangoni and arc constriction mechanisms were perceived to be opt for such an increase in DWR. Metallurgi…

Study of phase transition in Bi3TiNbO9-BaBi2Nb2O9 ceramics

2016

Abstract The subject of the paper is lead free bismuth layer structure oxides (1-x)Bi3TiNbO9-xBaBi2Nb2O9 (x=0; 1; 2; 3 mol). The influence of Bi3TiNbO9/BaBi2Nb2O9 ratio on dielectric and structural properties was studied in a wide range of temperatures. Change in the ratio causes a decrease in the maximum value of dielectric permittivity and shifts the temperature of ε’max to low values, leading to linear decreasing of average grain size and linear increasing of ceramics density. These results indicate an augment of the packing degree and the participation of pores are significantly decreased with the increase of BaBi2Nb2O9 compound intake. Moreover, for 0.7Bi3TiNbO9-0.3BaBi2Nb2O9 ceramics …

Structural characterization and optical constants of p-toluene sulfonic acid doped polyaniline and its composites of chitosan and reduced graphene-ox…

2020

Para-Toluene sulfonic acid doped polyaniline (PANI), PANI/chitosan composites, PANI/reduced graphene-oxide composites and a ternary composite comprising of PANI, chitosan and reduced graphene-oxide have synthesised via oxidative polymerisation of aniline by Ammonium peroxydisulfate (APS). FTIR, XRD, FESEM and UV-VIS techniques were performed for the confirmation of the successful synthesis. The fundamental optical parameters such as, complex refractive index, complex dielectric constants and optical conductivity of the PANI and the composites were investigated in the UV-VIS-NIR range. The results show a clear dependence on the constituent component such as sulphur as well as the absorbance …

Responsible Leadership in the Manager–Employee Relationship

2020

Research questions:The aim of this study is to explore and conceptualize responsible leadership. The topic is viewed from the viewpoint of the dyadic level between managers and employees. The following research questions are answered: What principles do managers and employees perceive as being significant for responsible leadership in the manager–employee relationship? What social contexts in the relationship call for the principles to occur? To whom do the parties place responsibility for the advancement of the principles?Theory:The study draws on relational leadership theory as well as literature on responsible leadership. Responsible leadership is understood as a dynamic and contextual p…

Ledrappier-Young formula and exact dimensionality of self-affine measures

2017

In this paper, we solve the long standing open problem on exact dimensionality of self-affine measures on the plane. We show that every self-affine measure on the plane is exact dimensional regardless of the choice of the defining iterated function system. In higher dimensions, under certain assumptions, we prove that self-affine and quasi self-affine measures are exact dimensional. In both cases, the measures satisfy the Ledrappier-Young formula. peerReviewed

On a Robin (p,q)-equation with a logistic reaction

2019

We consider a nonlinear nonhomogeneous Robin equation driven by the sum of a \(p\)-Laplacian and of a \(q\)-Laplacian (\((p,q)\)-equation) plus an indefinite potential term and a parametric reaction of logistic type (superdiffusive case). We prove a bifurcation-type result describing the changes in the set of positive solutions as the parameter \(\lambda \gt 0\) varies. Also, we show that for every admissible parameter \(\lambda \gt 0\), the problem admits a smallest positive solution.

Magnetization Dynamics in Proximity-Coupled Superconductor-Ferromagnet-Superconductor Multilayers

2020

In this work, magnetization dynamics is studied in superconductor/ferromagnet/superconductor three-layered films in a wide frequency, field, and temperature ranges using the broad-band ferromagnetic resonance measurement technique. It is shown that in presence of both superconducting layers and of superconducting proximity at both superconductor/ferromagnet interfaces a massive shift of the ferromagnetic resonance to higher frequencies emerges. The phenomenon is robust and essentially long-range: it has been observed for a set of samples with the thickness of ferromagnetic layer in the range from tens up to hundreds of nanometers. The resonance frequency shift is characterized by proximity-…

Experimental evidence on microwave induced electron losses from ECRIS plasma

2018

The balance between warm and hot (>1 keV) electron density and their losses from the magnetic confinement system of an Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Source (ECRIS) plasma is considered to be one of the main factors determining the rate of the high charge state ion production. One of the key loss channels for heated electrons is thought to be induced by the injected microwaves. While this loss mechanism, referred to as rf-induced pitch angle scattering, has been studied theoretically and with computational tools, direct experimental evidence of its significance in minimum-B ECRIS plasmas remains limited. In this work, experimental evidence of microwave induced electron losses in the axial…

Molecular dynamics simulations of heavy ion induced defects in SiC Schottky diodes

2018

Heavy ion irradiation increases the leakage current in reverse-biased SiC Schottky diodes. This letter demonstrates, via molecular dynamics simulations, that a combination of bias and ion-deposited energy is required to produce the degradation. Peer reviewed

Spontaneous Music-Evoked Autobiographical Memories in Individuals Experiencing Depression

2020

Listening to music often triggers strong memories of events from our past, which influence how we affectively experience music listening and can therefore contribute to music’s therapeutic capacity. The aim of this study was to examine the valence and content of spontaneous music-evoked autobiographical memories (MEAMs) in listeners with self-reported depression, who typically demonstrate negatively biased autobiographical memory. Eighteen depressed and 21 controls participated in a music-listening experiment where they listened to a personalized music stimulus, described their memories, and thereafter rated the valence of these memories and of their induced affect. Participants’ ratings w…
