Effect of Polymer Length on the Adsorption onto Aluminogermanate Imogolite Nanotubes

This study evidences the adsorption of model nonionic polymers onto aluminogermanate imogolite nanotubes, attractive porous nanofillers with potential molecular loading and release applications. We resolve the underlying mechanisms between nanotubes and polyethylene glycols with different molecular weights by means of nanoisothermal titration calorimetry. The analysis of the results provides a direct thermodynamic characterization, allowing us to propose a detailed description of the energetics involved in the formation of polymer/imogolite complexes. Abstract Objective We aimed to evaluate the clinical utility and predictive value of stimulatory (TSAb) and blocking (TBAb) TSH receptor antibodies in the management of Graves’ disease (GD). Methods Hundred well-defined, consecutive, unselected, untreated hyperthyroid patients with GD were enrolled in a prospective two-year trial. Methimazole (MMI) was administered for 24 weeks according to baseline serum concentrations of free T3/free T4. Starting dose was 5–30 mg/day. Una donna caucasica di 18 anni si presentava all’osservazione presso il Settore di Medicina Orale (Università degli Studi di Palermo) data la comparsa di una neoformazione localizzata in zona trigono retromolare destro. L’anamnesi patologica non evidenziava la presenza di patologie sistemiche attuali o pregresse. La paziente era in buone condizioni di salute, riferiva di non assumere farmaci e di non avere subito alcun intervento chirurgico; dichiarava di non avere mai fumato. La paziente riferiva un lento e progressivo accrescimento della lesione, in assenza di sintomatologia algica.
