Child Benefit (prestaciones familiares por hijo a cargo) is the only monetary, regular and direct allowance to contribute bringing up children in Spain. Therefore, the Family Allowance System might be seen as a privileged watchtower where it is possible to observe complex and dynamic relationships between the family, the State and the market. Moreover, it shows its influence on the wellbeing and on the dynamics of inclusion or exclusion. This paper analyzes the Spanish economic allowance addressed to children and its evolution since its last reform in 1990. This paper describes the services of the system for autonomy and care for dependence in Spain, detailing the features and benefits that are developed from the services of prevention and promotion of personal autonomy as well as care for situations of dependence, according to the degree of the dependency.

Poly (lactic acid)/D-limonene/ZnO bio-nanocomposites with antimicrobial properties

[EN] Antimicrobial films of poly (lactic acid) (PLA)/D-limonene/zinc oxide (ZnO)-based bio-nanocomposites were prepared via melt compounding and subsequent thermocompression. D-limonene was incorporated at concentrations of 10 or 20 wt%, and ZnO pure nanoparticles and those organically modified with oleic acid (O-ZnO), with an average diameter of 13.5 nm, were included at concentrations of 3, 5, and 8 wt%. The plasticizing effect of D-Limonene was corroborated by a decrease in the glass transition temperature compared to pure PLA. The presence of ZnO and O-ZnO in the PLA matrix promoted a slight increase in the degree of crystallinity due to its nucleant performance. Although ZnO and O-ZnO …

The current use of natural resources in the textile industry leads us to introduce a new economic concept called inverse Malthusianism describing a context in which population grows linearly and resource consumption grows exponentially. Inverse Malthusianism implies an exponential increase in environmental impact that recycling may contribute to reduce. Our main goal is to extend the analysis of materials selection under the principle of equimarginality proposed by Jevons. As a first result, we show the particular circumstances under which policies excluding recycled supplies are never optimal. La Ley de racionalización y sostenibilidad de la administración local modifica profundamente el sistema de servicios sociales que se había desarrollado en los últimos treinta años en España. El sistema había conseguido consolidarse después de treinta años de un lento desarrollo, su valor fundamental es la proximidad a la ciudadanía, garantizada por la gestión y prestación desde los Ayuntamientos de los Servicios Sociales Generales. A nuestro juicio supone un profundo cambio en el sistema que puede suponer la supresión de múltiples servicios, programas y profesionales.
