Esiste un limite costituzionale alla privazione della cittadinanza? Il decreto legge n. 113/2018 ha recentemente introdotto un nuovo articolo 10-bis nella legge n. 91/1992 che disciplina la revoca della cittadinanza. Si tratta di una “sanzione” che può essere inflitta dal Presidente della Repubblica su proposta del Ministro dell’interno entro tre anni dalla condanna definitiva per gravi fatti di reato ed è applicabile soltanto ad alcune categorie di cittadini (non si può revocare la cittadinanza ai cittadini iure sanguinis, per beneficio di legge o per adozione). This is a note to the judgment in the case Faysal Pamuk v. Turkey (application no. 430/13), rendered by the European Court of Human Rights. The contribution explores the violation of Article 6 §§ 1 (right to a fair trial) and 3 (d) (right to obtain attendance and examination of witnesses) of the European Convention on Human Rights. The case concerned Mr Pamuk’s trial on terrorism-related charges, in particular the use of evidence that had been given in other jurisdictions in the absence of Mr Pamuk or his counsel following letters of request. This short contribution provides a comment of the judgment of the European Court on Human Rights in the case of Neagu v. Romania (application no. 21969/15), in which the Court found a violation of Article 9 (right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion) of the European Convention on Human Rights. The case concerned a prisoner who had converted to Islam while in detention. He complained of the refusal of the Romanian authorities to provide him with pork-free meals, in accordance with the precepts of his religion, unless he furnished proof that he was an adherent of that religion. Phytochemical Analysis and Cytotoxicity Towards Multidrug-Resistant Leukemia Cells of Essential Oils Derived from Lebanese Medicinal Plants

Juniperus excelsa fruit essential oil as well as J. oxycedrus, Cedrus libani, and Pinus pinea wood essential oils have been obtained with yields between 2.2 ± 0.3 % to 3.4 ± 0.5 % and analyzed by gas chromatography. Sesquiterpenes mainly characterized C. libani and J. oxycedrus essential oils, while in P. pinea and J. excelsa, monoterpenes were the most abundant compounds. In J. oxycedrus, cis-calamenene (7.8 %), cuparene (3.8 %), and cis-thujopsenal (2.0 %) have been detected for the first time. The cytotoxic activity of these essential oils against drug-sensitive CCRF-CEM and multidrug-resistant P-glycoprotein-expressing CEM/ADR5000 leukemia cells has been investigated (IC₅₀ values: 29.46…
