Lo scritto descrive le modalità dell'impostazione data al lavoro di ricerca sulla centrale "Tifeo" di Augusta, condotto nell'ambito del Dipartimento di Architettura dell'Università di Palermo e di concerto con l'ENEL. Nel decennio compreso tra gli anni Cinquanta e Sessanta, la Società Generale Elettrica della Sicilia incarica Giuseppe Samonà di ridisegnare il volto dell'azienda sull'isola affidandogli i progetti delle centrali e dei palazzi per uffici. La rilettura dell'ordine classico diviene il tratto distintivo della ricerca progettuale portata avanti dall'architetto siciliano. L'ossatura strutturale viene concepita, quindi, come diretta espressione del linguaggio architettonico dell'intero gruppo di opere, a testimonianza della sua volontà costante di tenere insieme tradizione e innovazione.

A multi-method geochronological approach is applied to unravel the dynamics of a paired metamorphic belt in the Coastal Cordillera of central Chile. This is represented by high-pressure - low-temperature rocks of an accretionary prism (Western Series), and a low-pressure- high-temperature overprint in the retro-wedge with less deformed metagreywackes (Eastern Series) intruded by magmas of the coeval arc. This study describes an Italian service, the Inter-institutional Groups Operating against child Abuse and Maltreatment (GOIAM), which specializes in the treatment of child abuse. The GOIAM service is composed of 53 professionals divided into four different categories: social workers, psychologists, child neuropsychiatrists, and psychopedagogists. With the aim of detecting strengths and weaknesses of the operative model adopted by GOIAM, the whole service was analyzed through the application of social network analysis (SNA). The special location of Lake "Specchio di Venere" on Pantelleria Island in the Sicily Channel (Mediterranean Sea) between Tunisia and Sicily offers a unique terrestrial archive recording atmospheric changes, which are otherwise difficult to decipher in the marine records from this area. The lake is an endorheic saline basin with a maximum depth of 12.5 m. As the water input depends on rainfall, precipitation variations influence changes of the lake's water chemistry. In summer 2008, Lake Venere was cored with a modified Livingstone corer revealing a composite sedimentary sequence of 10.29 m length.
