A vision agent for mobile robot navigation in time-variable environments

We present an architecture for mobile robot navigation based on Bayesian networks. The architecture allows a robot to plan the correct path inside an environment with dynamic obstacles. Interactions between the robot and the environment are based on a powerful vision agent. The results of simulations, showing the effectiveness of the approach, are described.

Occurrence of priority pollutants in WWTP effluents and Mediterranean coastal waters of Spain

A comprehensive study aimed at evaluating the occurrence, significance of concentrations and spatial distribution of priority pollutants (PPs) along the Comunidad Valenciana coastal waters (Spain) was carried out in order to fulfil the European Water Framework Directive (WFD). Additionally, PP concentrations were also analysed in the effluent of 28 WWTPs distributed along the studied area. In coastal waters 36 organic pollutants of the 71 analysed, including 26 PPs were detected although many of them with low frequency of occurrence. In the LanguageLab language workbench, we build on a component-based approach to language specification that facilitates the specification of all aspects of a computer language in a consistent manner, taking into account best practices in meta-modelling and language design. The workbench allows operation on a suitable abstraction level, and also focuses on user-friendliness and a low threshold to getting started, in order to make it useful for teaching of meta-modelling and language design and specification. Design of the stabilization control system of a high-speed craft

In this paper, the main causes of technical malfunction of a hydrofoil was analyzed. In particular, a preliminary analysis evaluates the economic impact for the navigation company of the periodical maintenance related to the keeping of the vessel in dry dock. The study demonstrated that the main critical points are focused on the fragility of the stabilization control system. The increasing of operating costs has motivated the realization of a study aimed at redesigning the stabilization system. The ATLAS Level-1 Central Trigger Processor (CTP) combines information from calorimeter and muon trigger processors as well as other sources and makes the final Level-1 Accept (L1A) decision. Due to the increasing luminosity of the LHC and the growing demands of physics and monitoring placed on the ATLAS Level-1 trigger system, the current CTP has reached its design limits. Therefore and in order to provide some margin for future operation, the CTP will be upgraded during the LHC shutdown of 2013/14.

Studies on patients with pedophilia focus on traumatic events as sexual abuse in their childhood, in which further childhood maltreatment is rarely described.
