Influence of Biologically Oriented Preparation Technique on Peri-Implant Tissues; Prospective Randomized Clinical Trial with Three-Year Follow-Up. Pa…
2019
Purpose: The objective of this prospective randomized clinical trial (RCT) was to analyze and compare the clinical behavior of three types of prosthesis supported by single implants in the posterior region after three years of functional loading. Materials and methods: Seventy-five implants were divided into three groups according to the type of prosthetic restoration: screw-retained crown (group GS); cemented crown without finishing line (biologically oriented preparation technique) (group GBOPT); and conventional cemented crown with finishing line (group GCC). After three years in function, clinical parameters (presence of keratinized mucosa, probing depths, bleeding on probing, and radio…
Complex composite structures with integrated piezoelectric transducers
2016
International audience; Nowadays, in different industrial fields as transport or aerospace, a research effort is conducted to reduce the structural weight. One of the most promising solutions is the use of composite structures due to their high stiffness, their low mass density and their low damping factor. At the same time, there is an intensification of the operational dynamic environment and an increase of durability requirements. These different expectations seem to be contradictory. One solution to manage these points is to design and manufacture smart composite structures with a fully distributed set of integrated piezoelec-tric transducers. These structures are able to modify their m…
A dynamic adjustment model of saccade lengths in reading for word-spaced orthographies : evidence from simulations and invisible boundary experiments
2021
Contemporary models of eye movement control in reading assume a discrete target word selection process preceding saccade length computation, while the selection itself is assumed to be driven by word identification processes. However, a potentially more parsimonious, dynamic adjustment view allows both next word length and its content (e.g. orthographic) to modulate saccade length in a continuous manner. Based on a recently proposed center-based saccade length account (a new regression model of forward saccade length is introduced and validated in a simulation study. Further, additional simulations and gaze-contingent invisible boundary experiments were used to study the cognitive mechanism…
Specific protocol (SENSLOG) over TCP/IP for sensors applications
2005
The objective is to obtain an embedded system using a microcontroller that will communicate with other devices over a specific protocol (SENSLOG) over TCP/IP for sensors applications. The protocol has been designed for this application, but the commands are generic. They can be used for any type of sensing. We must take into account that this program will run in a microcontroller and it will communicate with another program running in a PC. The protocol is based on commands, like SMTP. From the PC we will send commands to the microcontroller to do specific tasks, and if it is necessary, the microcontroller will answer to the PC. Some of the functions designed for this protocol are: to contr…
Decentering, Acceptance, and Non-Attachment : Challenging the Question "Is It Me?"
2021
Among mindfulness measures the three constructs acceptance, decentering, and non-attachment are psychometrically closely related, despite their apparent semantic differences. These three facets present robust psychometric features and can be considered core themes in most “third wave” clinical models. The aim of the present study was to explore the apparently different content domains (acceptance, decentering, and non-attachment) by administering various psychometric scales in a large sample of 608 volunteers. Resilience and depression were also assessed. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses performed in two randomly selected subsamples showed a bifactor approximation. The explained…
Questions and controversies in the study of time-varying functional connectivity in resting fMRI.
2020
The brain is a complex, multiscale dynamical system composed of many interacting regions. Knowledge of the spatiotemporal organization of these interactions is critical for establishing a solid understanding of the brain’s functional architecture and the relationship between neural dynamics and cognition in health and disease. The possibility of studying these dynamics through careful analysis of neuroimaging data has catalyzed substantial interest in methods that estimate time-resolved fluctuations in functional connectivity (often referred to as “dynamic” or time-varying functional connectivity; TVFC). At the same time, debates have emerged regarding the application of TVFC analyses to re…
Second order optimality conditions with applications
2007
International audience; The aim of this article is to present the algorithm to compute the first conjugate point along a smooth extremal curve. Under generic assump- tions, the tra jectory ceases to be optimal at such a point. An implementation of this algorithm, called cotcot, is available online and based on recent devel- opments in geometric optimal control. It is applied to analyze the averaged optimal transfer of a satellite between elliptic orbits.
Second order optimality conditions in optimal control with applications
2006
The aim of this article is to present the algorithm to compute the first conjugate point along a smooth extremal curve. Under generic assumptions, the trajectory ceases to be optimal at such a point. An implementation of this algorithm, called \texttt{cotcot}, is available online and based on recent developments in geometric optimal control. It is applied to analyze the averaged optimal transfer of a satellite between elliptic orbits.
