Formaldehyde and total aldehydes in indoor air of public environments by voltammetry

The proposed method involves active sampling, where a sampling pump is used to pull air through a solution and voltammetric analysis of the obtained solutions. No interferences have been observed. In addition, very little sample preparation is required. Analyses were performed in 19 indoor stations and one in outdoor. Measurements were carried out on University environments: Museum of Chemistry, Zoological Museum, libraries, laboratories, corridors, meeting rooms, photocopying room, machine shop and terrace. Formaldehyde concentrations in analyzed samples ranged from 2.6 to 85 μg m-3 (median = 32 μg m-3), while the sum of others aldehydes ranged from 2 to 25 μg m-3 (median =2.4 μg m-3). In …
Micro-determination of dithiocarbamates in pesticide formulations using voltammetry

Abstract The purpose of this work was to develop a reliable method for the micro-determination of dithiocarbamates (mancozeb, maneb, propineb, nabam, Na(CH3)2DTC, zineb, ziram, ferbam and thiram) in pesticide formulations for agriculture using adsorptive stripping voltammetry (AdSV). The accuracy of analytical method was valued by analyzing simulate formulation samples prepared by us with known amounts of active ingredients. In addition, the applicability of the AdSV procedure for the analysis of DTCs and EBDTCs in micro-samples was evaluated by estimating its recoveries from spiked commercial formulate samples. In Italy there are various records of the recurring presence of ceremonial breads; among these we may observe votive anthropomorphic breads, in particular in Sicily. These “special” breads are prepared for calendar festivals, for the patron saints’ days celebrations or anyway for celebrations of particular relevance for single communities, being connected to critical phases of the wheat cycle: that is to say, the month of May, the earing season, and June—July, the harvest season. This article explores how students’ informal language learning experiences with English find their way into the formal context of content-based language teaching (CLIL). The analysis is focused on stretches of classroom talk in which native Finnish-speaking students draw on their expertise of English-language popular culture, and use their knowledge as a semiotic resource for producing various types of actions. The frescoes at marine thermae discovered in 1886 during the excavation of the small thermal complex dating between the 1th and 3rd century AD, and located on the seafront of Reggio Calabria, have been collected already collapsed. They are currently part of the permanent exhibition of the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria. This paper illustrates the results of the restoration intervention, carried out in the form of an educational activity in the context of an agreement signed between the MarRC and the University of Calabria, and the results of the diagnostic investigations carried out by the IPCF-CNR of Messina and the STEBICEF department of the University of Palermo.

This paper will test the relationship between water and cult in the southern part of the sanctuary of Zeus Olympios at Agrigento. The most singular feature of this area is a monumental pool, besides some cisterns, buildings and a small oikos temple. The sacred area was investigated during the 20th century by E. Gabrici and E. De Miro and was referred to a chthonian cult, without deepening the features and modalities of ritual activities. Comparison of the mycelial growth of some Phellinus spp. isolates on different agar media

Celem pracy było określenie i porównanie wzrostu grzybni Phellinus spp. Użyto dziewięciu izolatów z gatunków: P. torulosus, P. robustus, P. pomaceus, P. igniarius i P. pini, które uprawiano na czterech różnych pożywkach agarowych, aby określić ich przydatność dla rodzaju Phellinus. Zastosowano pożywki: ziemniaczano-glukozową (PDA), maltozową (MEA), pszenną (WA) i trocinowo-pszenną (SWA). Po 10 dniach inkubacji w 25°C zmierzono średnice kolonii.
