One repetition maximum bench press performance: A new approach for its evaluation in inexperienced males and females: A pilot study

Summary The aim of this study was to evaluate a new method to perform the one repetition maximum (1RM) bench press test, by combining previously validated predictive and practical procedures. Eight young male and 7 females participants, with no previous experience of resistance training, performed a first set of repetitions to fatigue (RTF) with a workload corresponding to 1/3 of their body mass (BM) for a maximum of 25 repetitions. Following a 5-min recovery period, a second set of RTF was performed with a workload corresponding to 1/2 of participants’ BM. El artículo aporta una reflexión sobre el panorama de los museos pedagógicos en España con dos visiones: la de la profesional de museos y la de quien se aproxima al museo para favorecer el encuentro entre enseñanza y patrimonio. A través de sus páginas, que cuentan con numerosos ejemplos sobre el funcionamiento de diferentes museos pedagógicos, se pone de relieve que éstos deben estar dirigidos a un amplio horizonte destinatario y para ello deben contar con diferentes niveles de lectura, porque no es incompatible tratar de dar vida a la historia escolar, ajustándose a la autenticidad y a los datos científicos y hacerlo de manera amena y didáctica para todos los públicos.
