Background Conflicts of interest (COI) between industry and surgeons frequently introduce biases into surgical research. The abstracts submitted for presentation in scientific congresses are usually vetted for any indication of commercial bias. A current goal of the Italian Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis (SISET) is the production of guidelines for clinical conditions related to haemostasis and thrombosis. In 2006, the Executive Committee of SISET adopted a new program for the production of methodologically and scientifically sound guidelines aimed at both addressing clinical practice and stimulating new research. The first major step for this program was to train methodologists to manage working groups that compose the guidelines, and to create a reference document that describes the development of the program. Willingness to pay for a cure of low-risk melanoma patients in Germany

Malignant melanoma is potentially life-threatening but in most cases curable if detected early. Willingness to pay (WTP) is a preference-based construct that reflects burden of disease by assessment of the monetary value for a hypothetical cure from disease. Since WTP (directly as total amount of money) has not been assessed so far in patients with low risk melanoma, it was interesting to gain insights in this patient population and then, in a second step, compare it directly with the WTP of their treating dermato-oncologists. Physical and mental well-being are important determinants of medical doctors’ lives, including their professional activity, which has a direct impact on the health and lives of patients. The aim of the study was to assess the health condition of medical doctors from the Silesian Voivodeship. The physical health condition, including the prevalence of chronic diseases, drug therapy, and pro-health activities, was assessed. [ES] Se presenta una reflexión teórico-práctica sobre experiencias docentes metodológicas y de aprendizaje en el Grado en Trabajo Social de la Universitat de València basadas en las teorías del aprendizaje significativo de Ausebel, del aprendizaje social de Bandura o Vigosky y las propuestas de intervención Social de Ander-Egg y De Robertis, comunidades de aprendizaje, Aprendizaje Servicio e Investigación-Acción Participativa. En las conclusiones se presentan algunas implicaciones para la docencia universitaria y para futuras investigaciones.
