Pašvaldības domes deputāta tiesību aizsardzības līdzekļi
2020
Maģistra darba mērķis ir noskaidrot pašvaldības domes deputāta tiesisko statusu un to subjektīvo tiesību aizsardzības iespējas, ja, īstenojot deputāta pilnvaras, tā tiesības tiek aizskartas. Attiecīgais jautājums juridiskajā literatūrā līdz šim nav pētīts, taču tā aktualitāti apstiprina gan Satversmes tiesas, gan administratīvo tiesu prakse. Darba izstrādes procesā autore secināja, ka pašvaldības domes deputātam atsevišķos gadījumos piemīt subjektīvās publiskās tiesības, kuru aizsardzība ir iespējama administratīvajā tiesā. Taču pašvaldības domes deputātam nav paredzēts tiesību aizsardzības mehānisms jebkurā situācijā, kurā tas saskaras ar subjektīvu neapmierinātību par pašvaldības un tās i…
Vadības funkcijas pusaudžiem ar suicidālām domām
2015
Pētījuma mērķis ir noteikt sakarības starp vadības funkciju grūtībām un suicidālām domām pusaudžu izlasē. Izlasi veido 105 respondenti vecumā no 14 līdz 17 gadiem. Pētījumā tiek izmantota Vadības funkciju uzvedības vērtēšanas aptauja – pašnovērtējuma versija (Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function – Self-Report Version, BRIEF-SR; Guy, Isquith & Gioia, 1996), Bērnu depresijas aptauja (Children’s Depression Inventory; Kovacs, 1981); Pašnāvības domu aptauja (The Positive and Negative Suicide Ideation Inventory, PANSI (Osman & Gutierrez, 1998). Pētījuma rezultāti atklāj statistiski nozīmīgas korelācijas starp suicidālām domām un vadības funkciju grūtībām, statistiski nozīmīgi suicidālu…
A Fixed Domain Approach in Shape Optimization Problems with Neumann Boundary Conditions
2008
Fixed domain methods have well-known advantages in the solution of variable domain problems, but are mainly applied in the case of Dirichlet boundary conditions. This paper examines a way to extend this class of methods to the more difficult case of Neumann boundary conditions.
Exploiting ongoing EEG with multilinear partial least squares during free-listening to music
2016
During real-world experiences, determining the stimulus-relevant brain activity is excitingly attractive and is very challenging, particularly in electroencephalography. Here, spectrograms of ongoing electroencephalogram (EEG) of one participant constructed a third-order tensor with three factors of time, frequency and space; and the stimulus data consisting of acoustical features derived from the naturalistic and continuous music formulated a matrix with two factors of time and the number of features. Thus, the multilinear partial least squares (PLS) conforming to the canonical polyadic (CP) model was performed on the tensor and the matrix for decomposing the ongoing EEG. Consequently, we …
LOCAL CONTROL OF SOUND IN STOCHASTIC DOMAINS BASED ON FINITE ELEMENT MODELS
2011
A numerical method for optimizing the local control of sound in a stochastic domain is developed. A three-dimensional enclosed acoustic space, for example, a cabin with acoustic actuators in given locations is modeled using the finite element method in the frequency domain. The optimal local noise control signals minimizing the least square of the pressure field in the silent region are given by the solution of a quadratic optimization problem. The developed method computes a robust local noise control in the presence of randomly varying parameters such as variations in the acoustic space. Numerical examples consider the noise experienced by a vehicle driver with a varying posture. In a mod…
Convolutional neural networks in skin cancer detection using spatial and spectral domain
2019
Skin cancers are world wide deathly health problem, where significant life and cost savings could be achieved if detection of cancer can be done in early phase. Hypespectral imaging is prominent tool for non-invasive screening. In this study we compare how use of both spectral and spatial domain increase classification performance of convolutional neural networks. We compare five different neural network architectures for real patient data. Our models gain same or slightly better positive predictive value as clinicians. Towards more general and reliable model more data is needed and collection of training data should be systematic. peerReviewed
End-users Co-create Shared Information for a More Complete Real-time Maritime Picture
2017
European Union Member States are working towards an integrated maritime surveillance and deeper information sharing and implementation of Common Information Sharing Environment. Value networks aiming at co-creation, need active facilitation, and relevant platforms for open cooperation. This study analysed scenario analytics, and narrative documents from projects CoopP, CISE, and MARISA by using a Data Extraction Table to classify both objects and phenomenon relevant to European maritime information sharing systems. The object and phenomenon rows are grouped under a European Coast Guard Functions, CGFs framework, to better understand their occurrence and interdependencies. This paper finds t…
From influencee to influencer : the rhizomatic target audience of the cyber domain
2015
The messages of an influence operation are interpreted in a variety of ways by their receivers. To increase the probability of success, these messages are typically tailored to affect a defined group, a target audience. Target audience analysis (TAA) is a process of finding suitable target audiences for influence operations. There are multiple ways of completing the task, ranging from fast and intuitive to complex multi-staged processes. These processes use the information available at the moment of making presumptions about the effectiveness of competing approaches in order to choose those with best end results. The internet presents a challenge to this type of sequential, linear process b…
Mystemys giganteus n. gen. et sp.: an enigmatic and rare cricetid from the Terre Rosse M013 fissure filling (Gargano, Southeastern Italy).
2016
Mystemys giganteus is a new strongly endemic cricetid that occurs only in the recently discovered M013 Terre Rosse fissure filling of the Gargano area. This species was presented alongside the other taxa of the M013 fissure in a previous paper and it is here described in detail. Although the material includes only five molars, Mystemys is exceptional for its very large size (length of M1: 6.23 mm) and peculiar morphology. The molars are heavy built with bulged and robust cusps, tubercular crests, narrow valleys, very thick and crenulated enamel. The morphological features of Mystemys are very carefully described, with special focus on the evolutionary modifications induced by isolation. The…
Attitudes, Sentiments, and Concerns About Inclusive Education of Teachers and Teaching Students in Spain.
2020
The Sentiments, Attitudes, and Concerns About Inclusive Education Revised scale was developed to close the existing gap in measuring perceptions of inclusive education in the educative context. It has been widely used in other cultures but not in Spain. Our objective has been to analyze the psychometric properties in the Spanish sample by studying their relationship with empathy and social dominance variables, finally taking into account sociodemographic variables to observe if there are differences. The scale was applied to a total of 647 subjects: 323 university-students (18–45 years) and 324 in-service teachers (35–58 years). The scale showed psychometric properties suitable for the gene…
