Obraz wspólnoty katolickiej w polskim dyskursie religijnym
2018
The aim of the article is to analyse contemporary patriotic preaching. It proves that the ethnocentrism of the Church in Poland, has an ethnically based definition of sacrum, limiting one's view to the Polish national community. As a consequence 'we'in such discourse is an equivalent of 'we, the Polish people'. Christian (or generally: human, universal) attitude is not evident. In the first part of the article the main elements of religious discourse are presented: type of speaker (hierarchs of the Church - archbishops, bishops), occasions (national and religious celebrations), places (cathedral, basilica, Jasna Góra Monastery). In the second part of the article, its author analyses a sermo…
Cualificación, socialización y terciarización
2018
During the last two decades the problem of skill has come to be a key theme in debates about active employment policies and strategies for economic modemization. In such debates the concept of skill tends to be employed in a manner which does not reflect its complexity. The article seeks to remedy this. First it makes the distinction between the socio-cultural and the technical/professional dimensions of the concept ( the technical/professional can be further broken down into explicit and tacit skills.). Secondly, the distinction is made between the skills of the worker (effective) and the skills associated with the job he/she occupies (nominal) and the possibility of a lack of fit between …
Putting documents into their work context in document analysis
2000
In trying to achieve document standardization the goal is to find more effective, consistent, and standardized ways to utilize information technology. The specification and implementation of document standards may take several years requiring a profound analysis and understanding of document management practices. Document standardization does not concern documents only: it concerns workers, their work, business partners, and future systems as well. In this paper we discuss two ways of describing the work context of documents: process modelling and life cycle modelling. In process modelling, documents are regarded as resources produced and used in inter- or intra-organizational business proc…
Introduction to chronic prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS).
2007
Prostatitis is the most frequently diagnosed illness in men under 50, accounting for about 8% of all consultations with urologists. Estimates based on published studies suggest that the incidence of prostatitis in the population is somewhere between 4% and 11%. In 1995 the National Institutes of Health (NIH) classified prostatitis into 4 main categories: 1) acute bacterial; 2) chronic bacterial; 3) pelvic pain syndrome; 4) asymptomatic inflammatory. The aetiological agent most often involved is bacterial, particularly the category of Gram (-) bacteria, followed by Gram (+), chlamydiae and mycoplasms; however many cases of prostatitis are caused by bacteria which are difficult to isolate or …
The concept of major depression. I. Descriptive comparison of six competing operational definitions including ICD-10 and DSM-III-R.
1991
All operationalized diagnostic systems contain a diagnostic category, which corresponds to the concept of major depression. Yet, these corresponding definitions are not identical. Up to now, no comprehensive comparisons of the competing diagnoses have been published. We will therefore present a series of studies, describing six different operational definitions of major depression according to their content and construction and empirically comparing them in large inpatient and outpatient samples. This first paper presents a descriptive comparison of the definitions given in the Feighner Diagnostic Criteria, the Research Diagnostic Criteria, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Di…
The cognitive therapy of evaluation: Therapeutic techniques-[2]
1991
Abstract The main aim of this paper is to introduce the techniques used in cognitive therapy of evaluation. The Cognitive therapy of evaluation is being developed from the theoretical background of general semantics theory and it is a therapy based on language as an instrument of cognitive processes, and on the role it plays, through word-facts identification, in the development and treatment of emotional problems. The main techniques developed (abstraction orders and the extensional devices) and other therapeutic issues are introduced and explained.
Defining moderate asthma exacerbations in clinical trials based on ATS/ERS joint statement
2015
Background Exacerbations are a key outcome in clinical research, providing patient-relevant information about symptomatic control, health state and disease progression. Generally considered as an episode of (sub)acute deterioration of respiratory symptoms, a precise, clinically useful definition is needed for use in clinical trials. Aim and methods Focussing on moderate exacerbations, this opinion piece reviews landmark trials and current guidelines to provide a practical definition of a moderate exacerbation. Specifically, we adapt the ATS/ERS consensus statement of terminology Reddel et al. (2009) [1] which provides a conceptual (or 'theoretical') definition for moderate exacerbations, to…
Severe asthma: One disease and multiple definitions
2021
Abstract Introduction There is, so far, no universal definition of severe asthma. This definition usually relies on: number of exacerbations, inhaled therapy, need for oral corticosteroids, and respiratory function. The use of such parameters varies in the different definitions used. Thus, according to the parameters chosen, each patient may result in having severe asthma or not. The aim of this study was to evaluate how the choice of a specific definition of severe asthma can change the allocation of patients. Methods Data collected from the Severe Asthma Network Italy (SANI) registry were analyzed. All the patients included were then reclassified according to the definitions of U-BIOPRED,…
Scaling up strategies of the chronic respiratory disease programme of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (Action Plan B…
2016
Action Plan B3 of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) focuses on the integrated care of chronic diseases. Area 5 (Care Pathways) was initiated using chronic respiratory diseases as a model. The chronic respiratory disease action plan includes (1) AIRWAYS integrated care pathways (ICPs), (2) the joint initiative between the Reference site MACVIA-LR (Contre les MAladies Chroniques pour un VIeillissement Actif) and ARIA (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma), (3) Commitments for Action to the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing and the AIRWAYS ICPs network. It is deployed in collaboration with the World Health Organizatio…
The first Chevalley–Eilenberg Cohomology group of the Lie algebra on the transverse bundle of a decreasing family of foliations
2010
Abstract In [L. Lebtahi, Lie algebra on the transverse bundle of a decreasing family of foliations, J. Geom. Phys. 60 (2010), 122–133], we defined the transverse bundle V k to a decreasing family of k foliations F i on a manifold M . We have shown that there exists a ( 1 , 1 ) tensor J of V k such that J k ≠ 0 , J k + 1 = 0 and we defined by L J ( V k ) the Lie Algebra of vector fields X on V k such that, for each vector field Y on V k , [ X , J Y ] = J [ X , Y ] . In this note, we study the first Chevalley–Eilenberg Cohomology Group, i.e. the quotient space of derivations of L J ( V k ) by the subspace of inner derivations, denoted by H 1 ( L J ( V k ) ) .
