One of the best known bioactive triterpenoids is oleanolic acid, a widespread 3-hydroxy-17-carboxy oleanane-type compound. In order to determine whether further oxidation of carbon 3 affects anti-inflammatory activity in mice, different tests were carried out on oleanolic acid and its 3-oxo-analogue oleanonic acid, which was obtained from Pistacia terebinthus galls. Induction of CD4+/CD25+ regulatory T cells by targeting of antigens to immature dendritic cells

AbstractCoupling of ovalbumin (OVA) to anti–DEC-205 monoclonal antibody (mAb) (αDEC) induced the proliferation of OVA-specific T cells in vivo. Expansion was short-lived, caused by dendritic cells (DCs), and rendered T cells anergic thereafter. Phenotypic analysis revealed the induction of CD25+/CTLA-4+ T cells suppressing proliferation and interleukin-2 (IL-2) production of effector CD4+ T cells. The findings were supported by 2 disease models: (1) CD4+ T-cell–mediated hypersensitivity reactions were suppressed by the injection of αDEC-OVA and (2) the application of hapten-coupled αDEC-205 reduced CD8+ T-cell–mediated allergic reactions. Introduction: This systematic review of therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) identifies three long-acting injectable (LAI) risperidone formulations. Areas covered: Limited data is available on two formulations (RBP-7000 and in Situ Microparticle), but 20 TDM articles on the microsphere formulation were found. Dihydrocucurbitacin B Inhibits Delayed Type Hypersensitivity Reactions by Suppressing Lymphocyte Proliferation

We have studied the effects of dihydrocucurbitacin B, a triterpene isolated from Cayaponia tayuya roots, on different models of delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) in mice, as well as on T-lymphocyte proliferation and the mediators involved. In experiments with mice, dihydrocucurbitacin B inhibited the inflammatory reactions induced by oxazolone, dinitrofluorobenzene, and sheep red blood cells, reducing both the edema and cell infiltration. Moreover, the analysis of inflamed tissues showed that dihydrocucurbitacin B reduced the presence of the most relevant cytokines implicated in these processes, including interleukin-1 beta, interleukin-4, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha. Objective: Research in animals has shown that exposure to stressors during pregnancy is associated with offspring behavioural disorders. We aimed to study the effect of in utero exposure to the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, and maternal anxiety presumably associated with that exposure, on behaviour disorder observed at age 14. Cancer–testis antigen NY-ESO-1 is one of the most immunogenic tumor antigens defined to date. Spontaneous humoral and CD8+ T-cell responses to NY-ESO-1 are detected in 40–50% of patients with advanced NY-ESO-1-expressing tumors. A clinical trial was initiated to study the immunological effects of intradermal vaccination with 3 HLA-A2-binding NY-ESO-1 peptides in 12 patients with metastatic NY-ESO-1-expressing cancers.
