Values that Underlie and Undermine Well–Being: Variability across Countries

We examined relations of 10 personal values to life satisfaction (LS) and depressive affect (DEP) in representative samples from 32/25 countries ( N = 121 495). We tested hypotheses both for direct relations and cross–level moderation of relations by Cultural Egalitarianism. We based hypotheses on the growth versus self–protection orientation and person–focus versus social–focus motivations that underlie values. As predicted, openness to change values (growth/person) correlated positively with subjective well–being (SWB: higher LS, lower DEP) and conservation values (self–protection/social) correlated negatively with SWB. WNK3 Maintains the GABAergic Inhibitory Tone, Synaptic Excitation and Neuronal Excitability via Regulation of KCC2 Cotransporter in Mature Neurons

The activation of chloride (Cl-)permeable gamma (γ)-aminobutyric acid type A(GABAA) receptors induces synaptic inhibition in mature and excitation in immature neurons. This developmental "switch" in GABA function controlled by its polarity depends on the postnatal decrease in intraneuronal Cl- concentration mediated by KCC2, a member of cation-chloride cotransporters (CCCs). The serine-threonine kinase WNK3 (With No Lysine [K]), is a potent regulator of all CCCs and is expressed in neurons. Gli autori sintetizzano tutte le informazioni bibliografiche e inedite sulle specie che sino al 30 agosto 2015 sono state contattate almeno una volta nelle 14 isole circumsiciliane (Eolie, Ustica, Egadi, Pantelleria e Pelagie), confrontando alla fine la lista complessiva con quella delle isole Maltesi. In totale sono ad oggi note 434 specie (isole Maltesi incluse); molte di esse hanno mostrato nel corso dei secoli una notevole capacità di colonizzazione, fluttuando nel tempo o addirittura estinguendosi e ricolonizzando alcune isole. Kriptovalūtu volatilitātes modelēšana un prognozēšana

Maģistra darbā ir veikta GARCH volatilitātes modelēšana četrām, pēc tirgus kapitalizācijas, lielākajām kriptovalūtām: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin un Ripple. Darba empīriskajā daļā, tiek veikta kriptovalūtu GARCH, TGARCH, EGARCH un PGARCH modelēšana un prognozēšana izmantojot normālo un stjūdenta t sadalījumus, aplūkojot laika periodu no 07.08.2015 līdz 27.03.2018. Labākais modelis tiek noteikts salīdzinot trīs modeļu informācijas kritērijus un modeļu prognozes novērtējumus. Kaut arī stjūdenta t sadalījuma izmantošana uzlaboja modeļu novērtējumu visām četrām kriptovalūtām, tomēr tas ne vienmēr uzlaboja modeļa prognozi. International audience; In Western countries, recent decades have witnessed a revolution toward gender equality. Inequalities have been greatly reduced in areas such as education or employment. Because inequalities lead to distress, this development has largely benefited women. One notable exception is the realm of parenting, which has remained rife with inequalities even in the most egalitarian countries. Abstract Imidazole derivative ligands are recognized as useful models for biomimetic complexes. Among the inorganic–organic hybrid complexes, those with derivatives of imidazole heterocyclic N-donor ligands are interesting for their framework. In previous studies of complexes with imidazole derivative ligands, our group reported two main thermally induced decomposition behaviors supporting two different systematic decomposition trends. A strategic approach for the discounted Shapley values

The family of discounted Shapley values is analyzed for cooperative games in coalitional form. We consider the bargaining protocol of the alternating random proposer introduced in Hart and Mas-Colell (Econometrica 64:357–380, 1996). We demonstrate that the discounted Shapley values arise as the expected payoffs associated with the bargaining equilibria when a time discount factor is considered. In a second model, we replace the time cost with the probability that the game ends without agreements. This model also implements these values in transferable utility games, moreover, the model implements the \(\alpha \)-consistent values in the nontransferable utility setting.
