Improved measurement of the CKM angleγinB∓→D(*)K(*)∓decays with a Dalitz plot analysis ofDdecays toKS0π+π−andKS0K+K−

2008

We report on an improved measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa CP-violating phase {gamma} through a Dalitz plot analysis of neutral D meson decays to K{sub s}{sup 0}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} and K{sub s}{sup 0}K{sup +}K{sup -} produced in the processes B{sup {-+}} {yields} DK{sup {-+}}, B{sup {-+}} {yields} D* K{sup {-+}} with D* {yields} D{pi}{sup 0}, D{gamma}, and B{sup {-+}} {yields} DK*{sup {-+}} with K8{sup {-+}} {yields} K{sub S}{sup 0}{pi}{sup {-+}}. Using a sample of 383 million B{bar B} pairs collected by the BABAR detector, we measure {gamma} = (76 {+-} 22 {+-} 5{+-} 5){sup o} (mod 180{sup o}), where the first error is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic unc…

Pion Form Factor Measurement and ISR at BESIII

2017

Abstract At BESIII, we measured the cross section of 900 MeV/c2 with a 2.93 fb−1 data set taken at the center-of-mass energy 3.773 GeV. The initial state radiation technique is used, and the total systematic uncertainty is estimated to be 0.9%. The squared form factor | F π | 2 is extracted, and comparisons are made with results from both KLOE and BaBar. The two-pion contribution to the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to ( g − 2 ) μ is calculated to be a μ π π , LO ( 600 − 900  MeV / c 2 ) = ( 368.2 ± 2.5 s t a t . ± 3.3 s y s t . ) ⋅ 10 − 10 .

Updated pseudoscalar contributions to the hadronic light-by-light of the muon (g-2)

2016

In this work, we present our recent results on a new and alternative data-driven determination for the hadronic light-by-light pseudoscalar-pole contribution to the muon $(g-2)$. Our approach is based on Canterbury approximants, a rational approach to describe the required transition form factors, which provides a systematic and model-independent framework beyond traditional large-$N_c$ approaches. As a result, we obtain a competitive determination with errors according to future $(g-2)$ experiments including, for the first time, a well-defined systematic uncertainty.

The energy calibration of LEP in the 1993 scan

1995

This report summarizes the procedure for providing the absolute energy calibration of the LEP beams during the energy scan in 1993. The average beam energy around the LEP ring was measured in 25 calibrations with the resonant depolarization technique. The time variation of this average beam energy is well described by a model of the accelerator based on monitored quantities. The absolute calibration of the centre of mass energies of the off-peak points is determined with a precision of 2 parts in 10(5) resulting in a systematic error on the Z-mass of about 1.4 MeV and on the Z-width of about 1.5 MeV.

Improved measurement of theB 0 andB + meson lifetimes

1996

The lifetimes of the B 0 and B + mesons have been measured with the Aleph detector at LEP, using approximately 3 million hadronic Z decays collected in the period 1991 1994. In the first of three methods, semileptonic decays of B 0 and B + mesons were partially reconstructed by identifying events containing a lepton with an associated D*- orbar D^0 meson. The second method used fully reconstructed B 0 and B + mesons. The third method, used to measure the B 0 lifetime, employed a partial reconstruction technique to identify B 0→ D*- π + X decays. The combined results are begin{gathered} tau _0 = 1.55 ± 0.06 ± 0.03 ps, \ tau _ + = 1.58 ± 0.09 ± 0.03 ps, \ tfrac{{tau _ + }}{{tau _0 }} = 1.03 ±…

Radiative lifetimes of the(1–3)Π1states in NaCs: Experiment and theory

2007

The radiative lifetimes of the $(3)\phantom{\rule{0.2em}{0ex}}^{1}\ensuremath{\Pi}$ and $D(2)\phantom{\rule{0.2em}{0ex}}^{1}\ensuremath{\Pi}$ states of the NaCs molecule have been directly measured in a thermal cell from fluorescence kinetics after modulated laser excitation. The experimental ${\ensuremath{\tau}}_{(3)\phantom{\rule{0.2em}{0ex}}^{1}\ensuremath{\Pi}}^{\mathrm{rad}}$ values of the $(3)\phantom{\rule{0.2em}{0ex}}^{1}\ensuremath{\Pi}({v}^{\ensuremath{'}}∊[3,25];{J}^{\ensuremath{'}}∊[25,106])$ levels decrease from $29\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\text{to}\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}21\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{ns}$ as the ${v}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ values increase. The measured …

COHERENT constraints after the COHERENT-2020 quenching factor measurement

2020

Recently an improved quenching factor (QF) measurement for low-energy nuclear recoils in CsI[Na] has been reported by the COHERENT Collaboration. The new energy-dependent QF is characterized by a reduced systematic uncertainty and leads to a better agreement between the experimental COHERENT data and the Standard Model (SM) expectation. In this work, we report updated constraints on parameters that describe the process of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering within and beyond the SM, and we also present how the new QF affects their interpretation.

Orbit determination and errors of a star catalogue

1995

Abstract We obtain Ceres orbit taking into account all perturbations and applying correction of phase effect to observations. More than 3000 observations have been used and the results agree with other determinations. We have also investigated the influence of systematic errors of a star catalogue on the observations and its effect on final elements. To that aim, a simulation procedure has been applied to Ceres observations, including different laws for errors of star catalogue versus spherical coordinates. The best relations have been applied to real observations of Ceres, in order to obtain elements and star catalogue corrections. Preliminary results of these calculations are presented.

Three-prong τ decays with charged kaons

1998

Final states with charged kaons in three-prong τ decays are studied by exploiting the particle identification from the dE/dx measurement. The results are based on a sample of about 1.6 × 105 detected τ pairs collected with the ALEPH detector between 1991 and 1995 around the Z peak. The following branching ratios have been measured: B(τ- → K−K+π−ντ) = (1.63 ± 0.21 ± 0.17) × 10−3, B(τ− → K−π+π−ντ) = (2.14 ± 0.37 ± 0.29) × 10−3, B(τ− → K−K+π−π0ντ) = (0.75 ± 0.29 ± 0.15) × 10−3, and B(τ− → K−π+π−π0ντ) = (0.61 ± 0.39 ± 0.18) × 10−3. The first two measurements are more precise than the current world averages, while the last two channels are investigated for the first time. The 95% C.L. upper limi…

Calibration of Cholesky Auxiliary Basis Sets for Multiconfigurational Perturbation Theory Calculations of Excitation Energies

2010

The accuracy of auxiliary basis sets derived from Cholesky decomposition of two-electron integrals is assessed for excitation energies calculated at the state-average complete active space self-consistent field (CASSCF) and multiconfigurational second order perturbation theory (CASPT2) levels of theory using segmented as well as generally contracted atomic orbital basis sets. Based on 196 valence excitations in 26 organic molecules and 72 Rydberg excitations in 3 organic molecules, the results show that Cholesky auxiliary basis sets can be used without compromising the accuracy of the multiconfigurational methods. Specifically, with a decomposition threshold of 10(-4) au, the mean error due…
