Traitement chirurgical des fractures du condyle mandibulaire de l'adulte en France en 2005

2007

Summary Introduction The authors had for aim to present the latest trends in the surgical management of mandibular condylar fractures in France, in 2005. Material and methods One hundred maxillofacial surgeons were questioned on the surgical management of condylar fractures and indications. Results were presented at the 41st Congress of Stomatology and Maxillofacial surgery. Results The overall reply rate was 70%. Condylar fractures are generally managed in teaching hospitals. Open reduction and fixation was deemed appropriate in low subcondylar fractures in 76% of the cases, in 10% for diacapitular fractures. Therapeutic details and indications were a matter of huge variability. Discussion…

SOLUTION TO RANDOM DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH BOUNDARY CONDITIONS

2017

We study a family of random differential equations with boundary conditions. Using a random fixed point theorem, we prove an existence theorem that yields a unique random solution.

CO2fixation and activation by metal complexes of small polyazacyclophanes

2001

The interaction of the cyclophanes 2,6,9,13-tetraaza[14]paracyclophane (L1) and 2,6,9,13-tetraaza[14]metacyclophane (L2) and of their Zn2+ and Cu2+ complexes with CO32− and its protonated forms is described. The actuation of the Cu2+–L2 system as an electrocatalyst for the reduction of CO2 to CO in water is advanced. Copyright © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Fixed point results for $r$-$(\mathbf{\eta},\xi,\psi)$-contractive mappings of type (I), (II) and (III)

2013

In this paper, we introduce some classes of $r$-$(\eta,\xi,\psi)$-contractive mappings and prove results of fixed point in the setting of complete metric spaces. Some examples and an application to integral equations are given to illustrate the usability of the obtained results.

Nonlinear contractions involving simulation functions in a metric space with a partial order

2015

Very recently, Khojasteh, Shukla and Radenovic [F. Khojasteh, S. Shukla, S. Radenovic, Filomat, 29 (2015), 1189-1194] introduced the notion of Z-contraction, that is, a nonlinear contraction involving a new class of mappings namely simulation functions. This kind of contractions generalizes the Banach contraction and unifies several known types of nonlinear contractions. In this paper, we consider a pair of nonlinear operators satisfying a nonlinear contraction involving a simulation function in a metric space endowed with a partial order. For this pair of operators, we establish coincidence and common fixed point results. As applications, several related results in fixed point theory in a …

Diagnosis of systemic candidiasis by enzyme immunoassay detection of specific antibodies to mycelial phase cell wall and cytoplasmic candidal antigens

1993

Diagnosis of systemic Candida infections was attempted by the use of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (EIA) to detect IgG antibodies towards cell wall-bound and cytoplasmic candidal antigens. Cell wall antigens were sequentially solubilized by treatment of germinated blastoconidia of Candida albicans (ATCC 26555 strain) with beta-mercaptoethanol (beta ME extract) and digestion with Zymolyase 20T, a beta-glucanase preparation (Zymolyase extract). Protoplasts obtained after treatment with Zymolyase were osmotically lysed (cytoplasmic antigens). Sera were obtained from patients with systemic (n = 28) and superficial (n = 46) candidiasis. Control sera were obtained from normal healthy indiv…

Spatial segregation of the biological soil crust microbiome around its foundational cyanobacterium, Microcoleus vaginatus, and the formation of a nit…

2019

12 pages; International audience; Background Biological soil crusts (biocrusts) are a key component of arid land ecosystems, where they render critical services such as soil surface stabilization and nutrient fertilization. The bundle-forming, filamentous, non-nitrogen-fixing cyanobacterium Microcoleus vaginatus is a pioneer primary producer, often the dominant member of the biocrust microbiome, and the main source of leaked organic carbon. We hypothesized that, by analogy to the rhizosphere of plant roots, M. vaginatus may shape the microbial populations of heterotrophs around it, forming a specialized cyanosphere. Results By physically isolating bundles of M. vaginatus from biocrusts, we …

Quantification of denitrifying bacteria in soils by nirK gene targeted real-time PCR.

2004

Abstract Denitrification, the reduction of nitrate to nitrous oxide or dinitrogen, is the major biological mechanism by which fixed nitrogen returns to the atmosphere from soil and water. Microorganisms capable of denitrification are widely distributed in the environment but little is known about their abundance since quantification is performed using fastidious and time-consuming MPN-based approaches. We used real-time PCR to quantify the denitrifying nitrite reductase gene (nirK), a key enzyme of the denitrifying pathway catalyzing the reduction of soluble nitrogen oxide to gaseous form. The real-time PCR assay was linear over 7 orders of magnitude and sensitive down to 102 copies by assa…

Immunological diagnosis of human hydatid cyst relapse: utility of the enzyme-linked immunoelectrotransfer blot and discriminant analysis.

2000

ABSTRACT A discriminant technique was applied to the different serological patterns obtained by enzyme-linked immunoelectrotransfer blotting (EITB) and by conventional immunological tests, in order to differentiate the residual antibody patterns present in healed hydatidosis from the ones present in patients with active hydatidosis. For this purpose, specific antibodies against Echinococcus granulosus were detected by indirect hemagglutination, agglutination of latex particles, basophil degranulation, and EITB for 23 patients with active hydatidosis and 45 patients with surgically cured hydatidosis. Discriminant analysis of the different serological patterns obtained by EITB and conventiona…
