Antecedents and consequences of logistics value: And empirical investigation in the Spanish market

2010

Abstract In business practice and the academic study of logistics, the incorporation of concepts such as quality followed by value has been truly revolutionary. In addition, the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) has substantially modified the way inter-company relationships are managed. This has meant that logistics is no longer considered a routine, merely operational activity but a strategic variable which is a deciding factor in achieving customer satisfaction. There are, however, still a large number of companies which continue to ignore the differentiating potential of logistics and consider it to be a routine activity. Our contribution comes within the framework …

Identifying patterns in channel usage across the search, purchase and post-sales stages of shopping

2015

Different motivations explain channel choice for search, purchase and post-sales.Channel choice is affected by the product category: search/purchase goods.Product involvement is the most relevant variable explaining multichannel behavior.Cross-channel synergies as consumers use both channels at each shopping stage.Meaningful segments based on the choice of channel are identified and characterized. Consumers today are using various channels to complete their purchase process. As shoppers pursue different goals at each stage of the process, channel choice may be explained by different drivers for search, purchase and post-sales activities. Our research framework is based on an extension of th…

Dynamics of the termination of global alliances: probing the past, analyzing the present and defining the frontiers for future research

2022

PurposeWhile the number of global alliance terminations in the business world has grown steadily during the past few decades, the scholarly literature on strategic alliance (SA) termination remains limited. This research paper aims to perform a bibliometric analysis of the literature on alliance termination and propose a model for future research agenda that links the termination phase to the pre-alliance termination phase and post alliance termination phase.Design/methodology/approachA search query on global alliance termination identified a total of 69 research papers from the Scopus database, and a bibliometric analysis was performed using the bibliometrix R-package and VOSviewer. The an…

The effects of message framing in CSR advertising on consumers’ emotions, attitudes, and behavioral intentions

2022

While recent research on sustainability communication demonstrates the relevance of message framing, research on the effects of message framing on consumers' emotions is scant. Using the Stimulus-Organism-Response (5-0-R) framework, this paper examines the impact of environmental advertisements (stimuli) on two discrete emotions - hope and guilt - (organism) and how these emotions influence consumers' behavioral intentions (responses). Relying on the prospect theory, this study focuses on positive (gain) and negative (loss) frames. Study 1 shows that, in the context of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), a gain message elicits hope while a loss-message triggers guilt. Study 2 shows that …

What motivates consumers to teleshopping?

2011

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to analyze the role of interactivity with television (TV) personalities and audience members as mediating variables between teleshopping genre dependency and teleshopping behavior, and to identify the moderating effects of televiewers' instrumentalist behavior on teleshopping.Design/methodology/approachThe Media Dependency Theory has been used as the conceptual framework of this study to explain teleshopping in terms of the relations of the individual with the teleshopping genre, TV personalities and audience members.FindingsData analysis performed using a sample of 432 Spanish teleshoppers shows that genre dependency has an indirect influence on teleshop…

Positive effect of the fluorine moiety on the oxygen storage capacity of UiO-66 metal–organic frameworks

2016

Two series of fluorine-containing UiO-66 have been synthesized, replacing the 1,4-benzodicarboxylic acid linker with increasing amounts of 2-fluoro-1,4-benzodicarboxylic acid or 2-trifluoromethyl-1,4-benzodicarboxylic acid. The capacity to store oxygen and nitrogen within these MOFs has been tested, which revealed a positive correlation between the fluorine content and the oxygen storage performances.

Integrating Natural Language Processing (NLP) with existing library framework in enhancing level of users' satisfaction

2022

Introduction: Libraries are the storehouse of information instilling knowledge into human minds. The easy availability of information from online sources has barred users from visiting the library physically. To keep the users intact within the physical confines of a library, there is a need for libraries to evolve through the implementation of state-of-the-art techniques. Purpose– The purpose of this study is to develop a theoretical framework and conceptual background for applying natural language processing (NLP) in library and information science (LIS) to improve library services and related research. This study also aims to identify the LIS areas where NLP can use and implement …

Design of cost-efficient and photocatalytically active Zn-based MOFs decorated with Cu 2 O nanoparticles for CO 2 methanation

2019

<div>Here we show for the first time a MOF that is photocatalytically</div><div>active for the light-assisted CO2 methanation at mild conditions</div><div>(215 °C) without the inclusion of metallic nanoparticles or any</div><div>sacrificial agent. The presence of Cu2O nanoparticles causes a 50 % increase in the photocatalytic activity. These results pave the way to developping efficient and cost-effective materials for CO2 elimination.</div>

Metal-Organic Frameworks as Chemical Nanoreactors: Synthesis and Stabilization of Catalytically Active Metal Species in Confined Spaces

2020

ConspectusSince the advent of the first metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), we have witnessed an explosion of captivating architectures with exciting physicochemical properties and applications in a wide range of fields. This, in part, can be understood under the light of their rich host-guest chemistry and the possibility to use single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SC-XRD) as a basic characterization tool. Moreover, chemistry on preformed MOFs, applying recent developments in template-directed synthesis and postsynthetic methodologies (PSMs), has shown to be a powerful synthetic tool to (i) tailor MOFs channels of known topology via single-crystal to single-crystal (SC-SC) processes, (ii) impart…
