A single-domain Ritz approach for buckling and post-buckling analysis of cracked plates

Abstract A Ritz approach for the analysis of buckling and post-buckling of plates with through-the-thickness cracks is presented. The plate behavior is described by the first order shear deformation theory and von Karman’s geometric nonlinearity. The admissible functions used in the displacements approximation are series of regular orthogonal polynomial supplemented with special functions able to decribe the dicontinuity across the crack and the singularity at the crack tips; boundary functions are used to fullfill the homogeneous essential boundary conditions. This paper describes SIMPSONS (SIp and MPls Simulations On NS-2), which is a software platform for simulating multiple network scenarios, such as Telephony Over IP (TOIP), and multi-services networks extending the functionalities of Network Simulator NS-2. The innovative aspects of SIMPSONS is the complete integration of control protocols and traffic engineering mechanisms inside the same simulation tool. Settore ICAR/21 - UrbanisticaIn a framework in which the crisis is globalized but unequal and in the absence of a welfare system capable of responding to the urgencies of the most marginalized contexts and social groups a response to the new social and individual needs has been offered by networks of solidarity and from bottom-up mobilization practices that play a role of territorial agency often independently or in the absence of institutions. In the Palermo context a commitment made by a plurality of cultural subjects already active in the area gathered in a public assembly (Palermo si cura) during the period of the first lockdown gave rise to mutual aid actions to respond to the economic emergency and social and offer a proposal to cure the fragility of the city based not on charity but on the claim of a political dimension of collective action. Starting from the analysis of initiatives such as "Un sorriso per Ballarò" and "Abbiamo un (bi)sogno" the contribution analyzes the role the incidence and the fragility of these experiences in providing answers - often filling gaps - to a general interest and how these processes of value creation can hopefully contribute to the construction of local government policies capable of addressing emerging issues.

L’articolo analizza L’Adamo, ovvero il Mondo creato, poema scientifico-filosofico di Tommaso Campailla (1668-1740), accademico modicano, che partecipò con i suoi esperimenti scientifici e la sua opera letteraria a diffondere la filosofia cartesiana e le nuove mirabili scoperte in ogni campo del sapere. Nel poema Campailla ricorre al motivo tradizionale del viaggio di conoscenza per squadernare al Primo Uomo, Adamo, le straordinarie meraviglie della creazione, tentando una sintesi tra istanze scientifiche e nuove direttrici della poesia settecentesca.

Their works don’t have the main intent to stage detectives that can solve a case or unmask a culprit but rather they aim to denounce social distortions corruption and injustices suffered by an entire community and not least to indicate the picture of what on the contrary that same society could have been.

What does augment the risk to use cannabis on an everyday-basis in psychotic patients?

Introduction There are strong enough evidences of the fact that risk of psychosis is augmented by cannabis use. In a recent analysis, the strongest predictor of case-control status was daily-skunk use, i.e. the ORs for skunk users increase with the frequency of use5. We know also that FEP who smoked cannabis in their lifetime are less neuropsychologically impaired i.e. they have better premorbid and current IQ6. Interpretation of blood cultures that are positive for CoNS is often doubtful.
