Urban patterns show often an irregular morphology. The fact that this phenomenon appears often despite of the intensions of planers and that it is not related to a particular historical situation, incites to suppose the existence of self-organisation process, promoting such an evolution. In recent years, a growing number of forced migrants have travelled to Italy across the Mediterranean Sea. While the number of new arrivals has diminished since 2017, the Italian reception system still struggles to process the high number of applications for international protection. A significant proportion of forced migrants who arrive in Italy end up living in informal settlements, such as occupied buildings, shacks, containers and tented camps. Artikkeli on tapaustutkimus paikallisrahajärjestelmästä, jota kokeiltiin äskettäin maalaisympäristössä Sysmän kunnassa. Paikallisraha on yksi innovaatiivisista aloitteista, joita kunta on tehnyt tällä vuosituhannella torjuakseen jo 1960-luvulta alkaen käynnissä ollutta väestökatoa. Tässä artikkelissa tutkitaan paikallisrahan käynnistysvaihetta siihen sisältyneiden ristiriitojen näkökulmasta. Promocijas darbs ir secīgu pētījumu kopa, kuras ietvaros ir izstrādāta daudzkritēriju lēmumu pieņemšanas atbalsta shēma zemes izmantošanas pārvaldības uzlabošanai mozaīkveida ainavu agroekosistēmās. Darba ietvaros tika aprobēts autoloģistiskās binārās regresijas modelis zemes izmantošanas maiņas virzītājspēku novērtēšanai Vidzemes augstienes mozaīkveida ainavā. Darba tapšanas laikā tika izstrādāta ekosistēmu pakalpojumu novērtēšanas un kartēšanas metode agroekosistēmām Vidzemes augstienē, un tālāk tā tika aprobēta visās Baltijas valstīs. Latvijā pēdējā desmitgadē ir notikuši aktīvi teritoriālās politikas procesi veidojot jaunu administratīvu, pārvaldes struktūru, telpiski bāzētus attīstības instrumentus, kur nozīmīgu vietu ieņem robežas. Līdzšinējie Pētījumi, kas saistīti ar teritorijām Latvijā, neskata robežu kā pētījumu objektu. Forecasting the Geospatial and Temporal Patterns of Pollen Season im Europe Using Statistical and Deterministic Modelling

Promocijas darbs ir pētījums par temporālo un ģeotelpisku putekšņu sezonas prognozēšanu. Pētījuma pirmā daļā, pēc 12 gadu diennakts datiem tika izveidots lokāls modelis diennakts putekšņu prognozēšanai Rīgā ar precizitāti virs 80%. Otrā pētījumā tika izveidots universāls modelis nākamā gada sezonālā putekšņu indeksa prognozēšanai Ziemeļeiropā ar precizitāti līdz 92%. Promocijas darba trešā daļa tika veltīta olīvu putekšņu modeļu ansambļa izveidei Eiropā. Pierādīts, ka sešu modeļu ansamblis darbojas ievērojami labāk par katru atsevišķu modeli. Tika secināts, ka ir iespējams prognozēt putekšņu daudzumu gaisā dažādos temporālos mērogos – pēc meteoroloģiskās situācijas aprēķināt nākamā gada sez…
