Testo, Interpretazione, Drammaturgia, ieri e oggi”, held in Palermo on April 7, 2016, whose intent is here motivated. Starting from the definition of “performativity” and “gender parody” developed by Judith Butler, this paper aims to investigate the performative functions of male cross-dressing within the dynamics of social categorization in classical Athens. For this purpose I have adopted an eclectic hermeneutic toolbox, borrowing elements from Harvey Sacks’ Membership Categorization Analysis to René Girard’s scapegoat theory. Il contributo affronta il tema dell'apporto del pensiero medico antico, in particolare della medicina ippocratica, alle concezioni fiorite tra VI e V secolo in tema di fecondazione e generazione umana con specifico riferimento alla teorizzazione in materia del filosofo Parmenide. Accogliendo in larga parte le teorie, per altro diffuse anche in ambito non specificamente medico, sulla generazione basate sull'affermazione del principio dell'esistenza di un seme sia maschile che femminile, i medici ippocratici hanno optato per una concezione della generazione in cui l'apporto della madre non è considerato inferiore a quello del padre.

Nell’arte greca e romana, la rappresentazione di ferite corporee è solitamente poco enfatizzata e subordinata a una logica narrativa, poiché le lesioni sono di norma giustificate dagli avvenimenti nei quali i personaggi appaiono coinvolti. La stessa considerazione vale anche per le medicazioni, che di norma riguardano ferite in battaglia. Vi è però qualche raro caso di scene più quotidiane, raffiguranti un’attività di tipo ambulatoriale.

Il saggio discute il documentario di O. Cavalcanti, Persefone rivisitata, accurata e partecipata indagine sull’originale rito della Domenica delle Palme di Bova. In questa occasione sono recati processionalmente dei peculiari artefatti cerimoniali le pupazze, complessi intrecci di listelli di canna e di rami e foglie d’ulivo, rivestiti di fiori e di frutti. Intesi a rappresentare delle figure femminili, le pupazze sono destinate, al termine del rito processionale, ad essere smembrate e distribuite tra i fedeli affinché essi possano portare con sé, nelle proprie dimore, nei luoghi di lavoro una parte della potenza sacrale in esse racchiusa. Motivi tragici nelle Imagines di Filostrato Maggiore (I 4; 18; 27; II 4; 10; 13; 23; 29; 30).
Grazie all'analisi del rapporto tra il testo delle descrizioni di Filostrato e quello di Seneca tragico, Ovidio e Stazio si ipotizza la presenza nelle Imagines di allusioni ad opere ellenistiche perdute (si fa riferimento a Callimaco e Nicandro) . Inoltre, sulla base di un parallelismo tra II 4 (Ippolito) e un verso delle Rane di Aristofane si rintraccia una citazione dell'Ippolito Velato euripideo. In the antidote Galēnē by Andromachus the Elder (14.32.113-42.8 K) ) we nd (14.40.5) the noun ἀγλαΐην, «brightness», that causes some exegetical problems. Galen, however, commenting on the Galēnē in the rst book of his de antidotis, conms this term and re- commends that it should not be considered as an ingredient of the antidote. In a late ma- nuscript, the Parisinus gr. 2164, the term ἀγλαΐην is corrected into the adjective αἰγλῆεν, that could refer to the white pepper. Here I suggest that this conjecture should be consi- dered for a critical restitution of Andromachus’ text, in spite of Galen’s authority

This paper proposes to emend pasin in pasai in a damaged passage of the De ordine librorum suorum ad Eugenianum about the De sanitate tuenda (II 13, p. 94,10-16 Boudon Millot), recently restored thanks to the discovery of the Vlatadon 14, a new manuscript of this Galen’s autobibliographical work.
