Why are there no comprehensively digital scholarly editions of classical texts?

Currently, no 'canonical' classical text with a multi-testimonial tradition has a digital scholarly edition based on a complete digital transcription of all primary sources, and on the automated collation of those transcriptions. Most classicists simply do not feel that they need such editions. I argue that this is ultimately due to the 'canonization' of the corpus of classical texts. Classicists are more focussed on the 'Text' than on the documents (manuscripts) and their texts: they tend not to consider the textual variance in the manuscripts as culturally meaningful in itself, but merely instrumental in view of the constitutio textus. Termin „sztuka potrydencka” używany jest w odniesieniu do powstającej po Soborze Trydenckim (1545-1563) sztuki sakralnej. Sztuka religijna XVI i XVII wieku włączyła się w działania związane z kontrreformacją, broniąc dogmatów Kościoła rzymskokatolickiego i polemizując z protestantami. W artykule podjęto ważne pytania: Dlaczego dzieła El Greco można zaliczyć do tzw. „przedstawień kontrreformacyjnych”? Jakie tematy i w jaki sposób poruszane tematy przemawiały na rzecz wiary głoszonej przez Kościół rzymskokatolicki? Na ile sam El Greco miał świadomość, że przez swoje arcydzieła bronił, uzasadniał i potwierdzał nauczanie tego Kościoła?

The direct objects express the semantic role patient, that is, the participant affected by the transitive situation. In Ancient Greek, the case of the direct object is prototypically the accusative. However, on the basis of a scalar hypothesis of transitivity, the notion of affectedness may be conceived of as a gradual property of the objects. In this perspective, different ways of encoding the transitive objects may be individuated, namely the dative and the genitive, which should be interpreted as less typical instances of the category.
