Starting from the observation that the standard presentation of a virtual braid group mixes the standard presentation of the corresponding braid group with the standard presentation of the corresponding symmetric group and some mixed relations that mimic the action of the symmetric group on its root system, we define a virtual Artin group $VA[\Gamma]$ of a Coxeter graph $\Gamma$ mixing the standard presentation of the Artin group $A[\Gamma]$ with the standard presentation of the Coxeter group $W[\Gamma]$ and some mixed relations that mimic the action of $W[\Gamma]$ on its root system. It is known that high-intensity exercise can cause inflammation and damage in muscle tissue, and in recent years, physical therapists and fitness professionals have begun to use foam rolling as a recovery method to improve performance. Despite the lack of basic science studies to support or refute the efficacy of foam rolling, the technique is very widely used in the sports world. p-Blocks relative to a character of a normal subgroup

Abstract Let G be a finite group, let N ◃ G , and let θ ∈ Irr ( N ) be a G-invariant character. We fix a prime p, and we introduce a canonical partition of Irr ( G | θ ) relative to p. We call each member B θ of this partition a θ-block, and to each θ-block B θ we naturally associate a conjugacy class of p-subgroups of G / N , which we call the θ-defect groups of B θ . If N is trivial, then the θ-blocks are the Brauer p-blocks. Using θ-blocks, we can unify the Gluck–Wolf–Navarro–Tiep theorem and Brauer's Height Zero conjecture in a single statement, which, after work of B. Background The purpose of this study was to prospectively assess the dentoskeletal effect of a modified Twin Block appliance for treatment of class II malocclusions. Material and Methods Lateral cephalograms of 25 Class II malocclusion patients were compared to evaluate skeletal, dentoalveolar and soft tissue changes pre- and post-treatment with a modified Twin Block appliance. Abstract We present the first complete order α s corrections to the Wilson coefficients (at the high scale) of the various versions of magnetic and chromomagnetic operators which are induced by a squark–gluino exchange. For this matching calculation, we work out the on-shell amplitudes b → s γ and b → s g , both in the full and in the effective theory up to order α s 2 . The most difficult part of the calculation is the evaluation of the two-loop diagrams in the full theory; these can be split into two classes: a) diagrams with one gluino and a virtual gluon; b) diagrams with two gluinos or with one gluino and a four-squark vertex. Commensurability in Artin groups of spherical type

Let $A$ and $A'$ be two Artin groups of spherical type, and let $A_1,\dots,A_p$ (resp. $A'_1,\dots,A'_q$) be the irreducible components of $A$ (resp. $A'$). We show that $A$ and $A'$ are commensurable if and only if $p=q$ and, up to permutation of the indices, $A_i$ and $A'_i$ are commensurable for every $i$. We prove that, if two Artin groups of spherical type are commensurable, then they have the same rank. For a fixed $n$, we give a complete classification of the irreducible Artin groups of rank $n$ that are commensurable with the group of type $A_n$. PreGarside monoids and groups, parabolicity, amalgamation, and FC property

We define the notion of preGarside group slightly lightening the definition of Garside group so that all Artin–Tits groups are preGarside groups. This paper intends to give a first basic study on these groups. Firstly, we introduce the notion of parabolic subgroup, we prove that any preGarside group has a (partial) complemented presentation, and we characterize the parabolic subgroups in terms of these presentations. Afterwards we prove that the amalgamated product of two preGarside groups along a common parabolic subgroup is again a preGarside group.
