Clinical embryologists are highly trained laboratory professionals with multiple roles, including laboratory, clinical, biobanking and quality system management. In most European countries, clinical embryologists are trained to work in Medically Assisted Reproduction (MAR) centres without a specifically dedicated educational path. A Mr29,000 serine phosphoprotein (P29) related to oestradiol receptor was studied in human term placenta with the use of a specific monoclonal antibody (D5). D5 was used with two different methods, immunohistochemistry and immunoradiometry. For immunohistochemistry, an indirect immunoperoxidase method was chosen to detect P29 in methacarn-fixed, wax-embedded sections. P29 was mostly confined to the syncytiotrophoblast surrounding placental villi, staining being positive in both cytoplasm and nuclei. The stroma of villi was negative. AIM We aimed to measure the effectiveness and quality of life (QoL) 10 years after transobturator suburethral tape surgery. METHODS We carried out a prospective observational study of 42 women assessed 10 years after surgical intervention with the transobturator technique. The main outcome measures were subjective and objective cure or improvement, complications, and changes in QoL. RESULTS The median abdominal leak point pressure had been 92 (82-113) mL H2 O prior to surgery. A formal conflict-of-interest (COI) policy was developed at the onset of the process and enforced throughout. The entire guidelines process was conducted independently of any industrial funding. To evaluate whether first trimester fetal heart rate (FHR) and nuchal translucency (NT) associate with preterm birth (PTB).This was a comparative case-control study of 518 normal pregnancies with no history of PTB, of which 272 delivered at term (TB) and 246 progressed to spontaneous PTB prior to 37, 34, 32, and 28 weeks.
