Los orígenes de los estudios sobre la salud pública en la España renacentista

José María López Piñero (Jose.M.Lopez-Pinero@uv.es) Se sintetizan muy brevemente los resultados de las investigaciones históricas que el autor inició hace más de cuatro décadas sobre los orígenes de los estudios en torno a la salud pública en la España renacentista. Sucesivamente se considera la función desempeñada por el poder real, desde la perspectiva de los orígenes del Estado moderno, la influencia del ambientalismo hipocrático, el mantenimiento para privilegiados de la higiene a nivel individual, los inicios de la higiene colectiva en relación con las epidemias de peste y las aportaciones sobre la asistencia médica condicionadas por el cambio de valores acerca de la pobreza.
Towards semantic modelling of cultural historical data.

In this paper a practical method is presented for creating documentation of cultural historical targets using an event-centric core ontology. By using semantic documentation templates and an XML-based query language, a domain specific documentation model can be created and flexible user interfaces can be built easily for accessing and editing the documentation. Artikkelissa tarkastellaan 1800-luvun Keuruun käräjäkunnassa, sisäsuomalaisella maaseudulla eläneiden nuorten miesten ja naisten seurustelusuhteiden kehittymistä kohti avioliittoa ja sitä, kuinka tälle tielle alkoi kasautua ongelmia. Tutkimuksen ensisijaisena lähdeaineistona ovat miesten seurustelusuhteiden aikana kumppaneilleen lähettämät intiimit yksityiskirjeet (12 kappaletta), jotka naiset olivat tuoneet aviottoman lapsen elatusoikeudenkäynteihin todisteeksi suhteen aikaisesta seksuaalisesta kanssakäymisestä. This paper aims at scrutinizing the evolution of the retail sector and, consequently, of retailscapes in a Southern Italy city, Catania. Starting from the outputs of an empirical place-based research project carried out by the authors in the mid ’2000s, the work deepens the recent transformations occurred both in the central areas and in the suburbs, in order to explore the processes and dynamics – produced by and within the retail field – which have been shaping urban morphology and socio-economic functions in the last decade.
