The promotion of tourism in Italian regions from a sensorial perspective: a website content analysis

Recent tourism literature has identified the sensory dimension as key to understanding, planning and marketing tourist experiences. This paper aims to understand to what extent Italian regions consider the sensorial perspective in tourist communication, focusing the analysis on their institutional websites. We used the content analysis method considering two different periods to investigate the evolution of Italian tourism promotion. The results show that for all institutional websites, over time, attention engages only some of the five sensorial dimensions. That is, the communication does not appear balanced. W oparciu o wybrane płaszczyzny modelu DIMEAN analizie poddane zostały internetowe wersje czasopisma „Junge Freiheit” oraz magazynu „Compact”.
Application of the Information Bottleneck method to discover user profiles in a Web store

The paper deals with the problem of discovering groups of Web users with similar behavioral patterns on an e-commerce site. We introduce a novel approach to the unsupervised classification of user sessions, based on session attributes related to the user click-stream behavior, to gain insight into characteristics of various user profiles. The approach uses the agglomerative Information Bottleneck (IB) algorithm. Based on log data for a real online store, efficiency of the approach in terms of its ability to differentiate between buying and non-buying sessions was validated, indicating some possible practical applications of the our method. Satellite technology has become increasingly affordable and accessible in the past few decades. This has enabled many newsrooms to engage with genuinely remote journalism. This chapter explores the networked nature of satellite journalism and investigates its inclusion of experts and citizens outside newsrooms. Satellite journalism uses satellite-borne technology either as a (1) part of storytelling or (2) source of information. Visual Contrast Modulates Operant Learning Responses in Larval Zebrafish.

The larval zebrafish is a promising vertebrate model organism to study neural mechanisms underlying learning and memory due to its small brain and rich behavioral repertoire. Here, we report on a high-throughput operant conditioning system for zebrafish larvae, which can simultaneously train 12 fish to associate a visual conditioned pattern with electroshocks. We find that the learning responses can be enhanced by the visual contrast, not the spatial features of the conditioned patterns, highlighted by several behavioral metrics. Promocijas darbs ir izstrādāts disertācijas veidā fizikas nozarē materiālu fizikas apakšnozarē. Pētījums tika veikts LU Materiālu mehānikas institūtā. Darbs saistīts ar aktuālu un jaunu pētījumu virzienu: bioinspirēto funkciju tālāku attīstīšanu slodzi nesošos kompozītos. Tās ir mehānisku triecienu vizuālās indikācijas un polimēru matricas vaskulārās pašdziedināšanas funkcijas. Šīs funkcijas tika nodrošinātas, izveidojot viedus slāņus un iebūvējot tos kompozītā. Pētījumā tika noskaidrotas piemērotās pārbaužu secības, attīstītas kvantitatīvas metodes un mehānisks modelis, lai novērtētu jauno funkciju efektivitāti kompozītos.
