I aim at demonstrating how both Nicholas of Cusa and Leibniz glean from the platonic school of thought the idealistic notion of ‘truth as expression’, orienting it towards the singularity of being. I will also reveal a second assumption derived from the philosophia perennis by both thinkers: the idea of philosophy as hypothetic and intersubjective undertaking. The theoretical results of this philosophical conceptualization are formulated in the name of the Possibility rather than in the name of Necessity. The essay start exposing the main thesis of Tessitore’s book Benedetto Croce. La ricerca dello storicismo: Tessitore argues that Croce could not set a coherent historical thinking up, because of the tension between his formative Humboldtian kantism and the late yet critical adhesion to the Hegelian philosophy. Then, it tries to explain why Croce’s absolute historism and Tessitore’s critical historism – have similar motives but become very different as to their results.

This paper explores Husserl’s late manuscripts in order to sketch a phenomenological description of drives and the dimension of passive constitution that belongs to them. Although this topic touches upon psychological issues, it will be shown that a specifically phenomenological approach allows us to recognize the transcendental significance of instincts. This article aims to analyse critically the so-called “new realism” and to evaluate its pedagogical and educational consequences. By examining the objections made by this philosophy to the postmodernist culture, the author agrees on some aspects of its theory of knowledge. On the other hand, the article highlights the lack of adequate anthropology and possible consequences of the “new realism” on educational thought and practice. The proposal of an ontology of the person wellestablished in the tradition of phenomenological realism is seen as dialectics of the “new realism”.
