The paper aims to reassess the entire architectural and archaeological evidence of the southern part of the sanctuary of Zeus Olympios. This includes the oikos near the SE corner of the big temple (with two building phases dated respectively to the mid-6th century and to the first half of the 5th century), and the area with a large pool and two halls located to the south. This is equipped with a complex drainage system connected with two big cisterns. All these structures can now be referred to as a coherent building program carried out from 480 to 450 B.C. Motivated by the concept of quantifier (in the sense of P. Halmos) on different algebraic structures (Boolean algebras, Heyting algebras, MV-algebras, orthomodular lattices, bounded distributive lattices) and the resulting notion of monadic algebra, the paper introduces the concept of a monadic quantale algebra, considers its properties and provides several representation theorems for the new structures.

In the paper an algebraic metatheory of type-free λ-calculus is developed. Our version is based on lambda substitution algebras (λSAs), which are just SAs introduced by Feldman (for algebraizing equational logic) enriched with a countable family of unary operations of λ-abstraction and a binary operation of application. Two representation theorems, syntactical and semantic, are proved, what directly provides completeness theorems.

Abstract Purpose The prevalence of "ocal allergic rhinitis" within individuals suffering from perennial rhinitis remains uncertain, and patients usually are diagnosed with non-allergic rhinitis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of a potential "local allergic rhinitis" in subjects suffering from non-allergic rhinitis in a non-selected group of young students. Inuentiones and translationes of the relics are part of the hagiographic dossier of a saint and provide interesting information about his cult over the centuries. For S. Mercurius of Caesarea the original texts in Greek have been lost, but we have two collections miracles in Coptic that narrate the inuentio and translatio of his relics and there is also a medieval tradition about his translatio to Benevento (Italy). From all these texts is deduced a healing cult of S. Mercurius based on the usual topics.

Das Buch befasst sich mit dem Zusammenspiel von kognitiven, emotionalen und motivationalen Faktoren beim Aufbau von mündlicher Kompetenz in Deutsch als Tertiärsprache bei erwachsenen Italienern. Es stützt sich dabei auf ein interdisziplinäres Vorgehen, das theoretisch erörtert und in seiner Methodenwahl ausführlich dargelegt wird, insbesondere die Videografie sowie intro-/retrospektive Verfahren. Die Ergebnisse der Studie veranschaulichen die Lernprozesse einmal klassenübergreifend, zum anderen erfolgt eine detaillierte Analyse der einzelnen Lernenden. Das Literaturverzeichnis liefert Lehrenden, Studierenden und Forschern eine erschöpfende bibliographische Quelle zu den behandelten Themen.

Chinese theology is a challenge for Christianity. On the one hand, it presents new opportunities, and on the other, it prompts the redefinition of many terms, dogmas, and ways of thinking. Under the influence of Chinese theology, classical theology may become sinicized, i.e. influenced by the Chinese way of perceiving the world, man and the upernatural. Without knowing the philosophy, religion, art and language of the Chinese, Chinese theology may cause fear and apprehension. This can only be overcome by learning about the Asian world without fear.

The issue of morphodynamic influence in meandering streams is investigated through a series of laboratory experiments on curved and straight flumes. Both qualitative and quantitative observations confirm the suitability of the recent theoretical developments (Zolezzi & Seminara 2001) that indicate the occurrence of two distinct regimes of morphodynamic influence, depending on the value of the width ratio of the channel β. The threshold value βR separating the upstream from the downstream influence regimes coincides with the resonant value discovered by Blondeaux & Seminara (1985).
