The Superficial Anastomosing Veins of the Human Brain Cortex: A Microneurosurgical Anatomical Study

Introduction: In this microneurosurgical and anatomical study, we characterized the superficial anastomosing veins of the human brain cortex in human specimens.Material and Methods: We used 21 brain preparations fixed in formalin (5%) that showed no pathological changes and came from the autopsy sections. The superficial veins were dissected out of the arachnoid with the aid of a surgical microscope.Results: We dissected nine female and 12 male brain specimens, with an average age of 71 ± 11 years (range 51–88 years). Monoclonal antibodies recognizing larval- and pupal-specific cuticular proteins of Tenebrio molitor (Insecta, Coleoptera)

To study the sequential expression of insect epidermal cells during metamorphosis, a library of monoclonal antibodies (MABs) was prepared against the water-soluble proteins from preecdysial pupal cuticle of Tenebrio molitor. Six selected MABs recognizing only larval and pupal cuticular proteins (CPs) in immunoblot analysis were classified into three types. Type 1 recognized a 21.5 and a 22 kDa polypeptide, type 2, a 26 kDa polypeptide, and type 3, three polypeptides of 18.5, 19.5 and 21.5 kDa. They did not immunoreact with any protein of fat bodies or haemolymph from pharate pupae, suggesting that the antigens originate from the epidermis. Acute toxicity testing in fish is a standard method used in estimating the influences of chemicals on aquatic vertebrates. The ecotoxicological data obtained from acute toxicity tests in fish are, however, not sufficiently reliable to justify the continued use of this test. Fertilised eggs of zebrafish ( Brachydanio rerio) were used to test the acute toxicity of chemicals. They were chosen because the development of B. rerio has been studied extensively and information already exists concerning the normal development of this species. Bakalaura darba pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot dažādu organizāciju sniegto nemonetāro labumu un psiholoģiskā kapitāla saistību ar apmierinātību ar darbu un iesaisti darbā. Pētījumā piedalījās 77 respondenti (sievietes - 64; vīrieši - 13), visi no viena uzņēmuma. Respondenti bija vecumā no 18 līdz 35 gadiem. Iesaistes darbā mērīšanai tika izmantota Utrehtas Iesaistes darbā aptauja (Utrecht Work Engagement Scale UWES-9), (Schaufeli & Bakker, 2003). Darba mērķis bija noteikt GABAB agonista baklofēna mazas devas (0,05 mg/kg) ietekmi uz žurku iemācīšanos un atmiņu AD-tipa ICV STZ modelī. Rezultāti rāda, ka: 1) SAL+STZ grupā bija būtiski ilgāks izbēgšanas laiks, mazāks platformas zonas šķērsošanu skaits un platformas kvadrantā pavadītais laiks (p<0,05 vs. SAL+aCSF); 2) BCL0,05+STZ grupā izbēgšanas laiks bija zīmīgi mazāks (p<0,0001), platformas šķērsošanas biežums un uzturēšanās laiks platformas zonā – lielāks (p<0,05 vs. SAL+STZ); 3) BCL0,05+aCSF un kontroles grupas rezultāti bija līdzīgi treniņu dienās un pārbaudes testā.
