Background  The aim of this histomorphometric study was to assess the bone regeneration potential of beta-tricalcium phosphate with fibronectin (β-TCP-Fn) in critical-sized defects (CSDs) in rats calvarial, to know whether Fn improves the new bone formation in a short time scope. Material and Methods  CSDs were created in 30 Sprague Dawley rats, and divided into four groups (2 or 6 weeks of healing) and type of filling (β-TCP-Fn, β-TCP, empty control). Variables studied were augmented area (AA), gained tissue (GT), mineralized/non mineralized bone matrix (MBM/NMT) and bone substitute (BS). ABSTRACT The caliber-persistent labial artery (CPLA) is a vascular anomaly in which a main branch of the artery penetrates the submucosal area of the lip without loss of caliber. It commonly presents as an elevated soft tissue mass and is often pulsatile on manual palpation. Clinical suspicion is important, given the risk of bleeding, either from slight trauma or accidentally if lack of awareness leads to excision of the lesion owing to an incorrect diagnosis. The major routes of metabolic activation of dibenz[a,h]-anthracene (DBA) have been studied in transformable C3H10T1/2CL8 (C3H10T1/2) mouse embryo fibroblasts in culture. The morphological transforming activities of three potential intermediates formed by metabolism of DBA by C3H10T1/2 cells, trans-3,4-dihydroxy-3,4-dihydro-DBA-(DBA-3,4-diol), trans-dihydroxy-3,4-dihydro-DBA-anti-1,2-oxide (DBA-3,4-diol-1,2-oxide) and DBA-5,6-oxide were determined. The distribution and type of cytokeratins present in the normal human epithelia of the nasopharynx, oropharynx, tongue, palatine tonsil, epiglottis, vocal cord, and laryngeal ventricle were studied using immunohistochemical techniques and by gel electrophoresis of cytoskeletal proteins microdissected from frozen tissues. Abstract Introduction Imaging of somatostatin receptor expressing tumours has been greatly enhanced by the use of 68 Ga-DOTATOC and PET/CT. Methods In this work, a purification method for the 68 Ge/ 68 Ga generator eluate and a method to produce 68 Ga-DOTATOC suitable for clinical use were evaluated. The generator eluate was purified and concentrated on a cation-exchange cartridge in HCl/acetone media. The efficacy of this procedure in eliminating metal impurities from the 68 Ga solution was investigated by ICP-MS. The radiotracer quality was evaluated by radio-TLC, GC and γ-ray spectrometry.
